Administration: Campus administration is generally very good and genuinely care about the well being of students. There has been some tension between students and campus police, who have become much stricter in recent years.

4 College Freshman

Administration: Noise and drinking/drug violations are pretty strict. It mostly depends on how well you and your RA get along.

4 College Junior

Administration: For the most part the policies seem standard and they are given accessible in several places. Since I live in a school apartment I have a little bit more flexibility then someone in a dorm room. In addition, there are people available to answer any questions we have on school policies.

5 College Freshman

Administration: They aren't too strict and they aren't too lenient. Just don't be dumb if you decide to drink or something.

3 College Sophomore

Administration: The campus strictness at my school is average. It is not too little, and typically not too over the top.

Campus strictness is tied with safety, and safety is a priority at Linfield College. Drugs are not prevalent at Linfield, and it is not a primary part of life for students. Most students participate in alcohol at parties, but seldom will students even hear about someone using marijuana or hard drugs. Some students feel that the campus is fairly strict on underage drinking, while other students believe campus policy is pretty reasonable and practical.

Campus police generally don't interfere with parties unless the get-togethers get out of hand or alcohol is blatantly noticeable. Also, drug use is not a widespread problem; Linfield has a much lower usage rate than other campuses. The prevailing substances are alcohol at parties or beer when students go off campus to wind down. Usually, campus police will ticket offenses for traffic violations, and overall look out for a student's well-being.
