4 College Sophomore

Majors: I plan to have one, in part because its required and also because of the experience internships bring and they look great on resumes.

4 College Sophomore

Technology: Technology and computer lab use is overall excellent, while occasionally there are speed and reliability problems overall the network is great.

3 College Sophomore

Local Area: The school offers a lot to do, yet the city itself and other surroundings provide a very limited experience.

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: Long-distance transportation is good, but the options are limited due to the school being in a less populated area.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: The facilities and options for sports are immense and promote a very active and healthy lifestyle.

4 College Sophomore

Administration: Liberty can be seen as very strict, but the school's strictness of implementing policies is with the ensuring the best atmosphere for the student body in mind.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Not the best, but you can always find something.

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I have experienced no concerns as I have visited the LU campus! It is very safe and has great people swarming it every day!

Guys & Girls: There are super godly men and women on this campus. For the most part, everyone has focus and drive, loves God, desires to do well in their education, and more. Girls are encouraged to dress modestly on campus, which is a good thing. Everyone is friendly and enjoys hanging out in social gatherings.

Majors: I have had a phenomenal experience with majors. I wouldn't really change anything at all. One of my biggest suggestions is that it is incredibly valuable to contact your academic advisor pretty consistently. That has saved me from a lot of scheduling mishaps and allowed me to prepare for a Master's degree well.

Majors: Have a good GPA. They will work with you on this, of course, but in order to admit with ease, that is very valuable. I was a transfer student, so I didn't have to submit test scores or anything along those lines and was admitted quickly and without a hinderance.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: I'm an online student, but have experienced the sports at LU in my visit and the students really rally around the teams!

5 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: If there is drug use happening, it wouldn't shock me, but I can say I have never run into it myself.

Parking: When I went to the campus, it was very convenient and had many available spots.

4 College Sophomore

Local Area: It's beautiful! It is the outdoorsman's (or woman's) dream!

3 College Sophomore

Technology: Liberty's wifi speed is slow and unreliable.

Weather: The wind in Lynchburg is ridiculous.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: The LUPD police officers are very helpful and understanding. They are very good at dealing with issues on campus.

Off-Campus Housing: It takes a decent amount of time and effort to find a good place for a reasonable price. The main con to living off-campus is having to depend on roommates to keep up their end of the deal.

5 College Junior

Health & Safety: Liberty is a very safe campus, especially considering curfews get students inside the dorms at a reasonable hour. I have never felt unsafe anywhere on campus. Generally every area is well lit, and they even provide safety escorts at night.

3 College Junior

Academics: Like all schools, there are classes/professors that will motivate you to learn, and there are those that won't. LU requires a lot of general education courses, including Bible courses. For the most part these are good courses and great for every Christian to take, but sometimes the gen eds can be burdensome when you are trying to focus on the courses in your major. Altogether the academics are not that rigorous-- but the bright side of that is that you aren't (usually) assigned work just for the sake of work. I have certainly learned a lot here, and I have had excellent teachers inside and outside the School of Music.

3 College Junior

Local Area: Lynchburg doesn't have a whole lot going on. Downtown Lynchburg is charming and there are some coffee shops in the area where musicians play. Opera on the James (located downtown) puts on great productions. But basically all of my activities while at LU were related to the school (eg. the awesome Tower Theater productions!), or in Roanoke.

4 College Junior

Athletics: We have some very spirited Flames fans, and the football games are often packed! Everyone is encouraged to wear read on Fridays during football season. "Be Early, Be Loud, Wear Red!"

4 College Junior

Guys & Girls: There are some very solid, godly men here. But there are also a lot of kids. I suppose that's true of anywhere though.

Diversity: LU has a lot of amazing international students! I have some great friends from all over the world now. (By the way... I do know non-Christians who attend Liberty. And liberals. But frankly, not very many of them.)
