Overall Experience: The school accidentally dropped all my courses one semester. This was an absolute headache. However, the school made up for it once I contacted the right people (it took a while to climb the hierarchical ladder). Let's be honest, the online program is so big that managing it can be difficult for the personnel. Since January 2014, I have noticed that I now have an assigned academic advisor. This has been an improvement in management.

Guys & Girls: I have met many friendly guys and girls at Liberty through intensive classes.

Local Area: I can see the potential in Lynchburg. It is slowly acquiring a college town feel. However, Liberty's online program overshadows the undergraduate program and may be too big, in my opinion. Nonetheless, the online program is good for the local economy (hotels, restaurants, etc.).

Overall Experience: I am an online graduate student, so I can say that I feel like the admissions process was impersonal.

Off-Campus Dining: The options are somewhat limited, but the food is better than some university towns. I love Panera Bread.

Party Scene: The party scene has a positive impact on the student experience. Drinking and drugs are not allowed whatsoever, and because of that campus life is safer and better. Parties have their place and only take place for specific reasons.

Administration: The administration is fine, however the problem lies in the arbitrary nature of rule enforcement when it comes to RAs. Since dress code and other minor infractions are left up to the discretion of the RAs, there is a vast spectrum of offenses that go without address. I'm not necessarily opposed to these rules, but the fact that they are only periodically enforced is infuriating.

Scholarships: Liberty offers plenty of help for their students and I have received help from them. I have a hard time affording school because my family has fallen into unfortunate financial circumstances that we are still trying to work through. I have notified the school about my issues and they have helped in any way they could.

Local Area: There are plenty of affordable apartments located in Lynchburg. The town has plenty of job opportunities. I would not mind living here for a year or two after graduating.

Academics: The work load is what you would expect at a University. The professors are quick to help if you need help. The school also provides tutoring for all students on all subjects.

Athletics: We have great sporting equipment. Sports are taken seriously like at any other school. Most of our teams do well and we have a great support team that cheers our teams on.

Off-Campus Dining: Cookout is conveniently located near campus. It has great food for low prices. The staff there is always friendly. Cookout has become one of my favorite places to go out to off campus.

Scholarships: Financial aid is awesome for students who are super smart or they are from Virginia. Good students from out of state do not have as many scholarship opportunities as local students do. They are very helpful if you are trying to find loan money but it would be helpful if the school would offer more scholarships directly to the students, especially for athletic training and nursing students who have clinical rotations and cannot have a part-time job.

Campus Housing: There is a huge variation in on-campus housing. All of it is overpriced but some of the buildings are brand-new and others were meant to be temporary housing from 30 years ago. They are working to improve dorm buildings but the cost continues to increase for the new rooms based on the demand. The higher the demand, the higher the price.
