4 College Freshman

Campus Quality: Most of the campus is being refurbished and is really nice.

5 College Senior

Transportation: Liberty offers shuttles for students for free to help them get around campus.

Academics: Awesome Experience – I have always had an excellent experience with Liberty. The professors are caring. I have had moments when I could not meet a deadline due to problems in life and the professors have been compassionate and allowed me the extra time I needed. I have not found this kind of care anywhere else. Sometimes the workload is difficult, the courses are vigorous, and you have to submit your work into an electronic checker that checks to see if you have plagairized. But, overall, I have been very pleased with Liberty.

Guys & Girls: Social Life – The social here is good. I wish there was a little more diversity here, but its okay. Mostly everybody here is friendly though.

Campus Quality: Athletic Center – I think the gym here at Liberty is great. Its never too crowded and I always get an excellent workout in. They also have a variety of machines.

5 College Freshman

Technology: Computer Labs – Liberty University computers are extremely high tech. They give us students the best chance to succeed. The campus is pretty big so the computer labs may get crowded at times but its expected.

4 College Senior

Scholarships: Good Finaid Processes – I wish Financial Aid processes were easier for everyone, but it seems to be the norm for whatever school a person attends. They do a good job of continually following-up with their students to insure they are not confused.

Guys & Girls: The school is a Christian School dedicated to raising leaders for the Kingdom of Christ and bring about changes in the world for the life of their students as well as people in the world. Therefore, the guys and girls on this campus should be of the highest caliber of student.

Local Area: Nice Town – Lynchburg is a nice town with great coffee shops and shopping centers quite close to campus.

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: They offer a bus system, you can bring your own vehicle, biking trails, plenty of walking space.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Food: Excellent Dining Options – I am an online student but visited the campus and they have excellent options for anyone. They have several different places to eat and the food is great.

5 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Dining Areas All Around – There are plenty of restaurants to go to. Many of them give students a discount or allow us to use our "flames cash" which is great.

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: The Campus Is Very Safe – I've never heard of any incidents that have occurred since I've been here. They give freshman safety tips and the security on campus is great.

3 College Senior

Scholarships: The financial aid process has been a bit rough, just because I was selected for verification both times I've submitted my FAFSA. They do not offer very many scholarships. The people in the office are always amazingly quick and helpful though.

Overall Experience: Liberty University Online is my campus, and it is great! Very accessible and they set you up to succeed. I am pleased to be a student here.

Administration: The honest to Jesus truth...(for girls) – For anyone who is looking into going to Liberty University, buyer beware. There are a few things you need to know from someone who experienced it first hand...and withdrew.... While at Liberty, I lived in South Tower. Personally, I have always been a fun-loving, easy-going girl with (what I considered) Christian values. I never partied and always treated myself with respect. I valued the Free-will that God gave me, and made my own smart decisions. Unfortunately, Liberty crushes your individuality and takes away your voice. I had a strict curfew and the RAs frequently came into my room without my permission to make sure I was there. Room checks were three times a week, to ensure cleanliness. In addition, I was made to read a book about what God thinks of my clothing choices, for an interior design class(??), which was actually more closely linked to a Home Ec. class, for women to learn how to sew. Groovy. Also, no swearing, no kissing, no hugs for longer than 3 seconds, no hanging out with someone of the opposite sex in a dully lit area, no rated R movies, no "unnatural" hair color, no facial piercings, no knee caps showing or sweatpants, and lastly no sentiments of discord. Go to Liberty, if you want to be personally suppressed, made to cry, feel as though "big brother" is always watching you, and you want to be married before Graduating. In all fairness, there are some great things about this place, if you are willing to make the sacrifices listed above. Good luck.
PS - Liberty as the name is sorta' ironic....good one.

Parking: Grew Too Fast – A few years ago (older siblings) parking wasn't so bad. Now, the student population has outgrown the available parking. They say they are fixing it, but it won't be in my time here. Really glad for the buses.

3 College Sophomore

Diversity: It's a Small World – This is a conservative Christian school, so we don't find a lot of religions represented here. What we do have is students from all over the world, and students of all ages. There are also students from all over the US, so there is lots of diversity in that way.

3 College Sophomore

Administration: Striving for the Best – LU is known as a strict school--it is, after all, a conservative Christian school. They are strict about drug use and alcohol use--none allowed, no second chance. There is a dress code, but it means we have a neat campus, and it isn't overbearing. The hardest thing is that convo is required three times a week.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: Striving for the Best – LU is a small school so the sports aren't in league with the big universities. However, they offer every sport imaginable. The intramural program is extensive. The coaches, trainers, and assistants are very good. School spirit is very strong, and we support our teams.

Campus Quality: Keep Students Happy – I think Liberty really aims to keep students happy. There is a huge work-out gym, with a pool and an ice skating rink. There are squash courts, tennis courts, basketball courts... There is a paintball course, over 50 miles of hiking trails, and even a snowboarding slope. There are restaurants withing walking distance, a bus system, a great Student Union building, a great library and computer lab. LU even bought a local theater and made it into a dollar theater. Yeah, the movies are a few months old, but I can afford to go, and it is within walking distance.

5 College Freshman

Majors: Not your typical christian school. Majors are available for many different types of people, no matter what your interest is!

3 College Freshman

Parking: If you can find a place, good luck. The parking is limited for first-year students, so be prepared to walk to your car.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Main's the Way to Go – For those looking to get a great experience close to the action here, pick the dorms in the main circle. They really give the best experience for an incoming student.

3 College Junior

Weather: It's scorching hot in August, but bitter cold in January and February
