Campus Quality: It is an amazing acedemic if an spiritual environment. I have grown a lot in my faith since being here and my professors are all really good! Every student is prayed for daily by multiple people, and there are many ways to get involved in the community. You have the opportunity to meet weekly with prayer groups and have a minnie Bibly study headed by your prayer leader.

Majors: Nursing is the most rigorous program they offer so the workload is a lot, but it would be like that in any nursing program. They have you do clinicals starting your sophomore year. Most people who take the state test to become a nurse pass the first time. They prepare you really well.

Majors: I have no issues with the program at all so far! I would definitely have chosen Liberty again if I did it all over again because I am learning so much academically and growing more than ever before in my spiritual walk with God. I plan to go into medical missions and Liberty offers a specialization for that in the nursing program.

4 College Freshman

Majors: You don't apply for the nursing program until you are done with your first semester. Some of the prerequisites are anatomy and physiology, organic chemistry, nurs 101, medical terminology, and pathology. You have to have a certain GPA and preferably a B or better in the courses listed above. Only about half of the applicants are accepted into the program and they will look at students who took the prerequisites at Liberty first.

5 College Freshman

Majors: Liberty has over 229 different programs of study so there is a good chance you will find the major you are looking for here. We have the usual Biology, English, Art, Computer Science, etc but we also have less common degrees like Aviation, Athletic Training, Biblical Studies, Cinematic Arts, Fashion Merchandising etc. There are many internship opportunities here and they can help you in gaining experience before officially going on the job market.

4 College Freshman

Transportation: You can get anywhere you need to go, on a bus. But if you want to go off campus, you have to walk, or use your car!

5 College Freshman

Academics: SO MANY DIFFERENT PROGRAMS! Literally anything you want, we've got it!

5 College Freshman

Academics: Liberty University is FABULOUS. Professors are wonderful! The education I am receiving is wonderful. My education is the curriculum I need to be learning. The workload changes, but you are in college, therefore you will be doing a large amount of work!

Campus Quality: Liberty University's facilities are cutting edge, between the athletics fields, the ice center, the Olympic sized pools and indoor soccer fields, there is nothing to be left wanting for. Liberty is currently building a new library that promises to be a wonderful place for students to research and study.

Drug Safety: I have heard of a very small bunch of people who are into this, but they never stay with the school for long. The pervasive atmosphere is very strong clean Christian school full high moral values, which most student are very supportive of and adapt for themselves.

5 College Senior

Majors: I'm a Communications major, specifically Audio Broadcasting. I love my major. I've had great professors who have really worked in the broadcast industry. It's been great to learn from them. We get a lot of hands-on training, and have opportunities with the campus radio station, 90.9 The Light (and other campus media groups). Organizations like the National Broadcasting Society are great for extra training and networking.

Parking: Parking is...interesting. If you want a good parking spot, you need to be willing to put down some money for Zone 1 parking. Plan ahead to get a decent space, because there's a lot of commuters. They tow a lot here, but after 5 pm & on weekends, you can park without worries, as long at you are within a parking space.

Weather: It rains quite a bit in Lynchburg, so invest in an umbrella and boots. The winter is fairly mild, with the occasional snowstorm. One year it was in the 60s in February.

4 College Freshman

Majors: Being a Communications Major student is a lot of excitement here. There are plenty of opportunities to gain experience left and right.

Off-Campus Dining: Lynchburg is made up of restaurants. There's anything and everything you could possibly want: fast food, Chinese food, Japanese food/Hibachi bars/sushi bars, Italian food, Mexican food, Sweet Frog and Bloop (Frozen Yogurt), Texas Roadhouse, Macado's, Coldstone Ice Cream, Panera Bread, Starbucks, T.G.I. Fridays, IHOP... the list goes on. Many of these are within walking distance, too. Some of the restaurants can be a bit pricey, but most of them are reasonably priced. It's a fact that the majority of families that live in Lynchburg don't cook, but go out to eat every night and maybe one night a week they heat their leftovers at home.

Health & Safety: The area is very safe. Generally, people are really willing to walk with you, including the police and other people (southern hospitality.) Also, because the school is strict, someone knows where you are based on where you swipe your ID or where you sign out to.

2 College Junior

Weather: It always rains. They call the area "Drenchburg." However, the chancellor is very quick to cancel classes because of the large amount of commuter students. One time, it was barely raining, and we got out of school for the day anyway!

3 College Junior

Diversity: There are many international students at Liberty due to the Christian label. There are a lot of students who have studied internationally and many who were missionary kids. There are a lot of Korean students. However, there isn't much diversity from around the United States. The national population is mostly Caucasian. However, being Korean, I usually feel accepted.

Campus Food: The dining hall at Liberty is known by the students as "the rot", and none of the food is fantastic. There is a pizza hut and chic-fil-a on campus, but only the pizza hut takes meal swipes and obviously you can't eat pizza every day. And if you want to eat healthy, this is not the place to do it. Any "healthy" foods here are so full of preservatives, it's not even worth eating it for its "healthy" value.

Scholarships: Personally i was given a good amount of financial aid. Although it was not enough and i had to take out loans and pay out of my pocket i would honestly advice anyone to look for outside resources that the school is connected to. For example scholarships or grants. Also meeting up with a financial aid advisor would benefit you in the long run.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There is something to appeal to everyone from every ethnicity from Chipotle, Texas Roadhouse, Apple Bee's to local Mexican, Thai, and Japanese places, tec.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: I'm sure the are those who sneak and get away with it, but the policy is very strict. I have not seen any smoking or heard of anyone doing drugs on campus and its not a part of the social scene.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are a lot of great off campus restaurants! There is a highway right behind the campus, next to most of the dorms, that has a great variety of restaurants, both in cost and style. If you want to go farther from campus, downtown is only ten minutes away, and also has several good places to take a date.

4 College Senior

Academics: I honestly do not regret coming to Liberty University. The academics are incredible, the professors are always willing to go the extra mile to help you succeed. Liberty provides you with the best in order to be successful not only in the classroom but out of the classroom.

4 College Senior

Campus Housing: Liberty's housing is very nice. Liberty has for different housing options.
East Campus, South Campus, the Hill, and the Inn.
All housing options offer great social atmospheres. The cost continues to change every year due to more students enrolling at Liberty. The housing process is actually one of the easiest process you go through when you arrive at Liberty. Great student leadership team to help people move in and out.. Starting this spring Liberty is starting to build new dorms that will model UVAs on-campus dormitories.
