Drug Safety: You don't really notice it very often because everyone goes off campus to party!

Drug Safety: The only drug use I have physically witnessed is marijuana. All other forms of drug abuse do not take place on campus often and if they do, it is very private.

As with pretty much any college or university, there is drug and alcohol use at Lesley. However, compared to many schools, alcohol consumption is relatively low, with many students choosing not to drink at all. The local bars and liquor stores are very strict when it comes to checking IDs, and unless someone of legal age purchases it for you, alcohol is pretty much impossible to get if you are under 21. Also, Lesley doesn't have any fraternities or sororities, so on-campus partying is limited to in-dorm get-togethers, which tend to be small and intimate. Alcohol possession is allowed in most dorms (except those that are substance-free), as long as the possessor is at least 21.

Off-campus parties tend to be larger, and many students venture to nearby colleges to party off campus. While hard drugs, such as cocaine or heroin, are pretty much nonexistent on campus, marijuana use is pretty prevalent. While not used publicly on campus, some students choose to smoke marijuana in their dorm rooms or off campus. In general, there is very little pressure from students to drink or use drugs, and it tends to really be up to each individual student whether or not they choose to participate. While more extreme cases of drug and alcohol use can be punishable by loss of on-campus housing, suspension, or expulsion, most disciplinary action revolves around meeting with the dean and drug/alcohol counseling.
