Campus Housing

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: Social atmosphere is terrible. Its like a small boarding school- no college feel

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: It has a very close and homey atmosphere because it is such a small school. When you go everyone is very friendly and people like to help each other whenever they can.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Nice neighborhood. There are plenty of things look and good schools around the Lesley Campus and housing.

1 College Senior

Campus Housing: It's not so much that the dorms are bad--some of them are actually nice--it's the administration (i.e. "housing process") that is the problem.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: On campus housing is really expensive. That being said, some dorms are very large and in a good location, and others are just not worth the price tag.

View student contributors

There are a few different options for students looking to live on campus. Students can choose to live in a traditional dorm (such as Wolfard or Mackenzie), a renovated Victorian house (such as 16-18 Wendell), or suite-style housing (such as 1 Wendell). The traditional-style dorms are pretty standard, consisting of mostly double rooms that are relatively spacious. They also tend to be pretty clean, and while a cleaning staff takes care of all public areas and bathrooms, as with the Victorian houses, students are of course responsible for maintaining their own rooms. The Victorian houses are another great option for students. This style of dorm offers a more “homey” atmosphere, as the dorms retain the same set-up and structure of the original home. While both the traditional and Victorian-style dorms are available to everyone, you have to be at least a sophomore in order to live in suite-style housing: 1 Wendell, the only dorm that is currently suite-style, has four-, six-, and eight-person suites. This variety of on-campus housing is the most independent, as students are responsible for cleaning their own bathrooms and common rooms, which are shared among the suite.

Depending on whether a student is attending AIB or Lesley College, some campus housing is more convenient to class than others. Dorms located on Main Campus are usually more convenient for Lesley College students, as many classes are located on that campus, and they are also closer to University Hall, where classes are also offered. Technically, Brattle Campus is located closer to AIB, though it is still necessary to take a shuttle or public transportation to reach the AIB campus. Also, Main Campus is known for being a bit livelier, whereas Brattle Campus tends to be a quieter living option.
