3 College Junior

Campus Resources: It's alright. The staff are trying.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I feel like the career prospects are adequate.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Overall it is totally not what I thought college would be. It's very independent and it sort of felt like the teachers didn't care as much because they didn't push you to do your best.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: My academic experience was better than expected. My GPA was 2.5 in my first semester of college. In high school it was always 2.0 or lower.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: At the pearcity campus people weren't very nice. I learned my lesson, this semester I'm at the waianae campus.

3 College Sophomore

Online Courses: It's alright. I wouldn't say it's the worst, but I think it could have been better.

4 College Freshman

Online Courses: I did not take an all online course. It was a math class, that I had to go into once a week. The online work was difficult at times, but I was able to get help with the "Explain" option. The teacher was super nice and made sure that I needed to stay on track. There was no peer-to-peer interaction, but with this type of class I do not believe that it was needed.

College Freshman

Career Services: I have not used the career services yet.

5 College Freshman

Campus Resources: The student center and library is hands down the best. For my psychology final, I went to the student center and studied. It is a nice environment with a lot of sitting areas and computers to use. Inside the student center there is a coffee shop, which is really nice to have right before my first class of the morning. The library is nice and quiet with a sitting area and computer desks. The staff is really friendly and very helpful.

4 College Freshman

Student Body: The typical student is going there to get their work done. Does what they need to do to graduate with no drama. Since it is a community college, there are many different age groups, which is nice when it comes to group work.

4 College Freshman

Tuition & Financial Aid: The financial aid process was fairly easy, even though I forgot to turn in a few papers. My classes got cancelled because of the forgotten papers, but I was able to call the financial aid office and the lady was able to fix everything on the same day I called.

4 College Freshman

Academic Experience: Leeward Community College is a great university to start off with. If you are not sure on what you want to major in, the school is a great place to attend. The price for class is very reasonable compared to a non-community college. My professors this year were excellent and loved what they teach.

4 College Freshman

Academic Experience: There is a immensely large selection of academics offered at the LCC. It is really easy to register for the classes, which have a nice range of class times with multiple professors.

3 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: Hawaii is expensive, so the tuition is costly

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: Some academics but not a lot

5 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: The resources are amazing because there are a lot of books to choose from the library. The student center has loads of activities you could join. I'm currently in their soccer league and it's amazing because it's lots of fun and well organized.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: Most of my classes are offered at my school campus and I have an internship to look forward to. Campus jobs are also available within your concentration as well. The workload is perfect in some cases and stressful in some but all in all a very good workload that is manageable and fun. :)

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: My campus doesn't quite offer a lot of degrees but enough to make a student happy and choose something simple like a liberal arts degree and a whole bunch of pre reqs for classes that they could be interested but then need to transfer somewhere else to finish if the college doesn't offer the full degrees requirements.

4 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: I've received a lot of help financially with my financial aid reward and the school offers scholarships as well. The tuition is increasing every year but not drastically. The financial aid probably should increase due to books costing more and living expenses in Hawaii. So far everything is fine and is available to any type of student.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: I've been able to use a new online program to help myself to make appointments with my teachers or counselors whenever I need help with my degree or have questions. The classes provided all fit my schedule that I provide for school hours according to my life. There are a lot of times of days and days with different times to apply for any certain class.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: My counselor has already provided me with information on internships before I even started my career. She provided me something to look forward to. The college provides meetings and lectures to help the students ever semester.

4 College Sophomore

Student Body: All types of people are allowed to study at the community college, military, Hawaiian, local, and international. Arabs, Korean, Japanese, Russian, and even German exchange students are who I've heard of attending at Leeward Community College. All types of clubs are provided too which makes it fun to join a couple clubs to meet new people.

2 College Sophomore

Online Courses: There were no given power point presentations. I wish they had voiced lectures downloadable. Reading were all on your own with no guide on what is important in each chapter. I wish there was visual learner, kin-esthetic and audible learner involved in each lesson to help each type of learning student.

3 College Sophomore

Career Services: I haven't tried any of that yet but I think there is a page for the alumni and every semester they have meeting to help with finding a job after the student has received their degree.

3 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: they took too long to process my fafsa. then when it was finally approved, they are now asking for proof of citizen, and other thing that they normally do not ask. they didn't even ask that with my brother. the tuition is fine, i love it actually. and they set up payment plans which very convinient for students. i have nnever used it though but still a good strategy
