Academics: The professors are overall caring and accessible. Their expectations are reasonable for the level of their classes. The workload is manageable if you budget your time evenly and don't procrastinate/cram. I haven't enjoyed many of the general education courses because, since they are required, students are overwhelmingly apathetic and uninvolved in class. This mentality is present with many gen. ed. courses everywhere, though. The registration process was simple and streamlined. Popular study areas are the BlueGrey cafe and lounge area. The library is a good, quiet study spot but has very limited hours.

Diversity: Most students are relatively accepting of all backgrounds. I do wish there was more cultural, political, and religious diversity on campus. It would further enrich college life.

Drug Safety: Since I am a commuter student and mainly concerned with academics, I wouldn't know.

Overall Experience: The professors I have had are by in large caring, knowledgeable, and extremely accessible. The classes sizes are small enough to be personal, and I have never had a class over fifty students. Still, course offerings at the University of Memphis at Lambuth are extremely limited. There may be 1-3 professors in a single department. There are a very small number of majors and professors, giving students little actual choice in professors they want. However, overall students can get plenty of individualized attention from caring faculty, which is a major positive.

Health & Safety: The University of Memphis is extremely safe. I have never felt threatened on campus. Officers patrol the campus regularly and there are plenty of locations all over campus to call security. However, no major crimes have happened thus far.

Greek Life: We have one fraternity and one developing sorority on campus called Pi Delta Mu. I have had a great experience with Pi Delta Mu personally. The board is extremely devoted, and the members are down-to-earth and friendly for the most part. P.D.M. is not merely social but tries to engage in community outreach. The fees are extremely affordable as well, especially in comparison with normal Greek Life charges.

Overall Experience: I'm not sure what to I'm doing after college.

Campus Housing: There are some rules that are pointless.

Athletics: We don't recall have a sports program currently.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: It's a very small school with very few people.

Overall Experience: I love this school. It's small, the class sizes are always under 40, so you get lots of one-on-one time with professors if you need it. The professors actually get to know you if you let them. Everyone here is really helpful too and interested in helping you graduate and succeed in life, not just get you out. The campus is small too, so walking from one side of the campus to the other only takes 5 minutes. Most of your classes will be in just one building, so it's really easy to get around. They have a lot of student activities and student organizations that you can join too!

Overall Experience: We have the best security team on staff whenever we have an issue they head over very quickly to find out what the problem is.

Our school is a smaller one everyone on campus knows each other and are friends which really helps with being away from home for the first time.

I would choose my school over again if I had too.

It is the best environment for learning and our professors and tutors are very helpful in anyway that we need help.

5 College Senior

Administration: They are really concern about the students and our education.

Diversity: We are a very diverse school at the University of Memphis at Lambuth. Races range from White, Black, Hispanic, Indian, Native American, etc. I personally love the diversity at this school I've never had a class that was just made up of one or two races. Two races is extremely rare from what I hear. There is a large variety in cultural views and politics. It is a diverse campus.

Drug Safety: People aren't big on drugs on this campus the main thing you will see is marijuana. Alcohol is definitely the more popular option on this campus though its not a big deal.

Administration: The security on campus are a group of fairly nice people and are typically open for conversation so they aren't very harsh on many things. Underage drinking is an issue but only if you are on the campus my best advice to you is that if you are going to drink do it off of campus, The Kappa Sigma house is just on the other side of the library across the street and you will not get into any trouble with the school for drinking there. You can't smoke on campus unless you are in a designated smoking zone though security is fairly lenient about that, I have not heard of anyone having their cigarettes pulled out of their mouths.

Academics: To be a psychology major at UofM-Lambuth is awesome! We have an amazing psych professor who really knows her stuff and really cares!

4 College Junior

Academics: Academics at University of Memphis- Lambuth exceed many expectations. We have an extremely qualified teaching staff and they seem to care about the success of the students.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: It's Excellent to Be a Cardinal – Lamar University is great, I love going there, I have encounter great Teachers who are willing to spend time with you, they understand one has to work and try to go to school to uptain an education and not be were there are at, of course they have to be harsh if not they wouldnt be doing there job to the exceptional as they can.I dont reside in Beaumont but I travel just to attend the univeristy.

4 College Junior

Administration: Strict When Necessary – Lambuth really isn't strict about partying. As long as you're staying safe and not causing harm to other people, they kind of let you go. Security has given kids who are obviously drunk rides across campus back to their dorm rooms before, and not gotten them in trouble. In the dorms, you have to be smart about partying. If they find containers in your room, you can get in serious trouble. Just use common sense and don't make it obvious that you're partying, and you should be fine.

4 College Junior

Party Scene: "Dry" Campus – There aren't a lot of big parties, if there are they're fraternity or sports team parties. Sororities don't hold parties, and there aren't parties in the dorms. Most students do drink, but a lot of it happens just in the apartments or at the fraternity houses in a non-party setting. Jackson has a lot of 18 and up clubs that a lot of Lambuth kids, esp athletes, like to go to.
