Overall Experience: If you're looking for a school that isn't overwhelming Lake Area Tech is the one for you. The staff and students are all so friendly and always willing to help. The staff is always having fun opportunities to make friends and be involved in activities and also ways to earn some cash. This is one of the best schools to go to!

Academic Flexibility: I have had no issues with classes and work interfering with each other. Instructors are very understanding and will help you with any issues concerning schedule conflicts.

Online Courses: For physiology we had an online class, I was very skeptical at first because I don't learn well without interaction from my instructors, but my instructor made it easy with online notes, practice quizzes, and activities. It was actually my best grade so far. All professors at Lake Area are professional, nice, and friendly. Relationships with them come easy and they constantly make sure that you are doing the best that you can do.

Career Services: Instructors and alumni make sure there is a high job placement at all times. Within the nursing training, they allow us to do clinicals at hospitals and clinics where we can also be offered potential jobs.

Overall Experience: The instructors are the best. They care about each and everyone of their students. If a student is falling behind, quiet, or confused they will talk with them personally and help them through any problems. The courses are set up in a way that you learn, but have a great time doing so. Time flies!

Overall Experience: For nursing, clinicals begin right away, which is really cool because I thought it would be months before we began any on the job training. We are constantly reminding of how high our placement percentages for our careers are. Instructors and staff reassure us that we have job security once we graduate. Not only do they recruit us once were graduated, but they recruit us for CNA work before we have even started.

Academic Experience: My first year was filled with generals that lead into the nursing career. Each semester was 14-16 credits (and will continue to be). I was very found of my general instructors and cannot wait to be with my Nursing instructors. I found anatomy and physiology to be my favorite subjects because they applied to the nursing career so well. During my first few weeks of nursing school, I will already be doing clinicals and on the job training.

Overall Experience: When I first applied for Lake Area, I had a lot of anxieties on whether I would get in or if I'd even make it. The professors, students, and faculty went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable. They welcomed me with open arms and went out of their way to help me on assignments. I have never enjoyed a school, as much as I enjoy attending Lake Area.

Overall Experience: Lake Area Technical Institute is the only place in SD to offer an Associate's Degree for an Occupational Therapy Assistant. The school has national accreditation status. My program is able to provide me a degree in 20 months and will prepare me to sit for the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy examination after graduation. The staff is extremely knowledgeable about their subject areas and very helpful in providing assistance to students.
