Overall Experience: The professors are incredible. They will always try to help you and respond to emails. The classes sizes are small for classes in your major but huge for gen eds.

Overall Experience: I'm a science major and Kutztown requires lots of lab hours. I already have experience in my field which looks great on a resume.

Health & Safety: The campus has it's own police that are around all day. There are emergency stops every so often outside that automatically dials the police. Every lab room has a panel on the wall that has a button to automatically dial 911 in case of emergency. When an incident happens, everyone is emailed immediately about what happened.

Campus Housing: You "have" to live in the traditional housing dorms your first year and half of them are terrible. 3 of the traditional dorms were recently renovated and they seems fine. My dorm and my friends dorm were not recently renovated and they are ridiculously bad. My dorm (Roth) had almost no lighting. I turned on all the lights and additional lamps and it was still too dark to get work done comfortable. My friend's dorm (Detrick) had elevator problems every other week to the point that people with injuries that needed the elevator to get to their rooms had to be relocated. Her room was also always ridiculously hot. The nontraditional housing options are really good though.

Overall Experience: The professors are always available to help you, and you get help directly from the professors and not from assistants. The campus is gorgeous with fountains and beautiful foliage. The residential buildings are across the street from the academic buildings, so it's easy to separate work from play. The traditional dorms can be loud (it's not terrible), but the academic side is always very quiet. The campus is amazing and the professors really want you to succeed.

Party Scene: Nothing too extreme in either direction

Party Scene: The bars are nice and have good selection

Academics: There's more than one would expect and better as well

Diversity: There's a little bit of everything

Drug Safety: You could find anything if you looked hard enough

Overall Experience: As an incoming freshman, Kutztown students, teachers, and staff made the transition into a new lifestyle as easy as it could possibly be. I've meet so many people that will become lifelong friends. I've experienced so many things that I wouldn't have unless I came to this school.

Drug Safety: The policy enforcement is very strict in on campus housing for drug and alcohol use. Kutztown is a dry campus, so any underage drinking isn't tolerated. People can get kicked out of housing or lose their jobs if they are caught. Although Kutztown is a dry campus, that doesn't stop students from drinking and doing drugs. There is still plenty of drinking at KU. I would say there isn't peer pressure to do anything that you aren't comfortable with.

Overall Experience: My overall experience with professors has been great. I have had a few professors that I absolutely did not like, and those classes were more difficult for me. But themajority of my professors were very helpful, upstanding, accommodating, and kind. All of my core classes have been small class sizes. My largest class was about 120 students, but that was a General Education requirement course. There are plenty of courses to choose from, Gen Ed and core.

Overall Experience: Kutztown's Career Development Center is excellent. They are very helpful with anything you are in need of. They will help with resumes, interviewing, internships, connections, anything! There are lots of job fairs held at KU, and events that bring back alumni for networking.

Health & Safety: I receive the KU Crime Alerts directly to my phone so I am aware of anything going on around campus at all times. I don't get very many alerts throughout the semester, which is a good thing because our campus is pretty safe. All around campus there are poles that one can press if they are feeling unsafe, and Oublic Safety will be notified immediately and they will show up. Public Safety is very active around campus and provides the campus with safety and security.

Campus Housing: The residential experience is not for everyone, but I enjoyed my time like in on campus housing. Before I even made any friends, I began attending Hall Council and got involved in the campus housing community. Through housing, there are different organizations one can join and become involved such as the Residence Hall Association and the National Residence Hall Honorary. There are also great job opportunities through housing such as being a Desk Receptionist or a Community Assistant. The social atmosphere is great if you want to be involved right away and meet some amazing people. The cost is increasing, which is a negative, but many of the dorms are up to date with living learning communities for your major.

Greek Life: Greek life is pretty prominent at KU, but this is coming from someone who is a member of the Greek community. Greek life at KU is a family, and all sororities and fraternities are friends. Greek life is a great way to get involved on campus because they participate in many campus events, volunteer and do service work, and have many connections at KU. The social atmosphere is strong, and it definitely makes college more enjoyable.

Athletics: Kutztown is a Division II school that is a part of the PASSHE system. The school spirit for sporting events like football and basketball is obviously not as large or enthusiastic as a Division I school, but there are still plenty of people who enjoy attending events and cheering on our Golden Bears. I would say that Rugby, a club sport at KU, has a much bigger, supportive fan base because our Rugby team is one of the best nationally.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: Although a small school, Kutztown is filled with endless amounts of opportunities for involvement and academics. With over 200 clubs, there truly is something for everyone to get involved in. The campus community is close knit and I can always see the same faces around school. The academic programs are strong, and most of the professors really care about your overall success.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: Have never lived on campus, although have heard it's not the greatest.

3 College Junior

Athletics: school spirit is alright, sports are not large.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Makes me feel at home!

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I had a few small issues with things because I had no idea what I was doing, like getting a voucher to buy books from my financial aid. I didn't know there were time limits. Live and learn.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I don't have much experience with this but the senior I knew were very positive.

I also researched potential jobs and salaries for my major, so I know I have options.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I see a lot of campus security and that makes me feel good. Access to dorms is limited to residents and their guests, which is really good.

There were five instances of regular police, once with dogs, in my dorm. It know I should feel safe, but it makes me a little fearful.
