Drug Safety: I think the drug and alcohol scene is pretty typical of a college. Many students drink on weekends and some use marijuana. Those are the major substances used by students. If people don't want to use them they can easily avoid them and won't be judged, but if people want to they can probably access them. Campus Safety will break up big parties and respond to reports, but are really there to keep students safe and not get them into trouble.

Drug Safety: Your experience being exposed to drugs and alcohol largely depends on who you befriend and what you choose to do in your free time. It is easy to avoid it if you spend time with like-minded individuals and if you do not go to parties. It is not so easy if you go out every weekend and hang out with people who party, but that is common sense. I do not ordinarily experience any sort of peer pressure. It will vary depending on who you're friends with, but people don't care if you are or aren't doing drugs. I would say social norms more so facilitate not judging people depending on their decision, either way. In general, I don't think people get in trouble for drug and alcohol use. I have heard a few stories about people getting in trouble with campus safety, but that does not occur very often.
