Facts & Statistics

Tips for Getting In
  • Be passionate about your interests.
  • Be yourself in the interview. Kenyon loves the "quirky" side of people, and the senior interviewers want to make sure that you fit in.
  • Have a few books to talk about in your interview.
  • Proofread your admissions essay. Kenyon is a community of writers, and grammatical mistakes are noted.
Things I Wish I Knew Before Coming To School
  • A good night's sleep is only for weekends and breaks.
  • At a school this small, there is no such thing as a secret.
  • Getting a bat out of a dorm room is more difficult than one would guess.
  • Hipsters rule the campus.
  • It is more difficult to find an open computer during finals than it is to pass the actual tests.
  • Kenyon truly is isolated from the rest of the world.
  • Making out in public is not cool, even if you are drunk.
  • No matter how big your high school was, 1,600 people is simply not a lot of people.
  • Ramen noodles can be eaten for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
  • That a slightly skuzzy Chinese restaurant could become the be-all and end-all of weekend dining.
  • There truly are a lot of cornfields around here.
  • Writing is a necessary component of every conceivable academic subject.
Interviews & Information Sessions
Your visit may also involve attending a class, meeting with a professor, or talking with a coach. To ensure that your visit will be as informative as possible, please let the admissions staff know about any of your special interests in advance.
Campus Tours
Interviews and tours are available Monday through Friday, and most Saturday mornings and on some Sundays.
Overnight Visits
You may stay for an overnight visit during your senior year of high school. Overnights are offered most weeks, Sundays, Mondays, and Thursdays, for one night per visit. Please contact the Office of Admissions at least two weeks in advance of your planned visit.
Virtual Tour of Campus
Did You Know?
