4 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: The flexibility of schedules is awesome! I have a job, so I only took morning classes but I know a lot of people who took afternoon and night classes

Online Courses: I took an sdv class and it was basic knowledge. I usually take on campus classes.

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: The class sizes are small compared to large universities. I had 28 people in my history class and that's the largest class I've had. Some of the professors admit to only being there to get paid, while few others actually care about teaching you what you need to know for your career. There are a large variety of classes offered but good luck getting into them. Most of the time, there isn't a professor to teach so you can't even take the class

2 College Senior

Overall Experience: They don't do much about careers or internships at all. Granted, im a freshman so that says a lot, but I've seen one career fair and it was super lame.

3 College Senior

Academic Experience: John Tyler doesn't offer my specific major so they placed me In a general studies program. Therefore, I won't use much of the general studies in my actual career.

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: This school is a community college so everyone commutes. There is no food on campus other than a few vending machines in one building! Attendance is mandatory but most of the professors are super cool.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: duel enrollment has given me free credits, its very helpful

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: The professors know what they are talking about and will help you if you ask for help.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: If you are looking for an inexpensive and easy way to take classes, John Tyler is the way. The professors all have taught/still teach at other universities so they are actually great professors. They will help you if you need help. There is not a ton of socializing because most people come to class then leave right after.

Academic Flexibility: Someone is always available when I have questions, comments or concerns.

4 College Junior

Online Courses: Being able to complete course work online allows me to work at my own pace and still be available to work my full time job

5 College Junior

Career Services: I have had so many questions about transferring my credits to a four year university and the academic advisors have helped me take the correct courses for a successful transfer.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: All of my professors have been incredibly friendly, informed on their subjects, and have the students at mind always. The class sizes never surpassed a comfortable learning environment.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: I have worked with multiple staff members at the school and none have failed to inform me on the opportunities available to me.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: The courses offered to me at my high school have pushed me to try harder than ever before. The academic information is spectacular and truly challenges students. There has not been a day when I learned nothing new.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: Since I began Dual Enrollment courses through JTCC, the staff have been incredibly friendly and helpful. We high school students have been offered the exact same benefits as those students who attend classes on campus. Staff members make it their goal to make every student have a unique experience.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: My major, Business Administration, is a great program. I feel that it does a great job allowing me to leave options open for many schools at once, such as UVA, Virginia Tech and JMU. The workload isn't too much in most classes; however, some classes, such as Accounting and Economics, require a much greater time investment to excel.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I would definitely choose to go to John Tyler again, because of two reasons. First, it's affordable and secondly, it allows for a lot of personal/one-on-one attention with professors if you needed it, but typically you need to seek the professors help!

Overall Experience: love the school nice new campus

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: John Tyler has been a great choice and it's a wonderful school that you don't have to pay an arm and a leg for. I'm in their nursing program and it's really helping me get where I want to go

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: As a single mother, I dreaded the thought of returning to school. But John tyler has made the transition so smooth. Online courses are wonderful and when I do have to go on campus it's a good experience.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: The experience has been great.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: I'd choose this school again because it worked well for me to take dual enrollment classes through this school while I was in high school. It is convenient and it is also a good way to test the waters of college work at a full academic load to see if it is for me or not. Also, the dual enrollment classes plus the proximity to my home (meaning I don't have to pay for a dorm room) really helps save a lot of money that can be used when I transfer to a four year college.

3 College Junior

Career Services: They have a decent arrange of job offerings, as well as helpful staff that try to discover where you will be the best fit.

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: The campus is located on a busy highway, but the maintenance given to the campus makes it feel like it's on a lush countryside, with walking trails and patios to eat lunch on. Very pretty campus, as well as easy to navigate.
