4 College Sophomore

Career Services: John A Logan provides a lot of job interships and opportunities to all of its student.

Academic Experience: The instructors have been in their career long enough to give very personal testimony to how life if like outside of the classroom and how the curriculum is appropriate to the real world. The workload is not really heavy and is very manageable. the curriculum is realist in the sense that it's not all textbook work.

Academic Experience: Registration is easy. even if you are having a hard time the guidance counselors are very helpful. The professors really care and make an effort to get you involved.

Campus Resources: The library is easily accessible and quiet to study in.

Overall Experience: All the courses are manageable, the professors are knowledgeable and care about student success, and the class sizes are comfortable - I've never heard of more than 40 in one class before.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Career services are pretty good. A ton of students go to JALC to do their generals before transferring to SIUC. I've heard the internships are pretty good too.

3 College Sophomore

Online Courses: Don't underestimate the work involved in online courses!

Student Body: The student body is fairly diverse, given the region its in. Never heard of any problems regarding bullying or discrimination. I'm a transgender student and there were no problems asking my instructors to refer to me by a different name and pronoun.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Tuition is the 5th or 6th most affordable in the state of Illinois (as of Summer 2015), but the quality of education is fantastic. Classes are almost never bigger than 40 students, the instructors are helpful and knowledgeable, and the courses are worth the money. I would still choose to go to JALC if tuition was doubled.

Campus Resources: There are computer labs available until 4:30pm on weekdays with free printing if it's for school related things. At the end of a lot of halls there are study areas with couches, tables, outlets, and a view of campus. The CHEC (Community Health Education Complex?) building offers gym and pool access for just under $100 a semester. There's a decently sized, cozy feeling library not far from the cafeteria. A lot of cool things on campus are scheduled for 12:00 - 12:50pm on Wednesdays on the main campus, like fun PTK events, guest lectures, workshops, etc. so I really don't recommend scheduling classes during that time if you want to partake in those activities.

Student Body: I think it depends on the student. From my point of view everyone has been very outgoing and I have never ran across a bully or mean student.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I feel as though I am getting what I paid for. Besides a few fees here and there in the Cosmetology program I have had no problems or complaints. The cost of books could always go down but that is just a thought.

Academic Experience: It is defiantly tough at times. It is 36 hours a week plus drive time and study time. It is worth it though!! I have learned everything I could ask for. Our school offers one of the longest internship programs around and I have loved every minute of it!

Overall Experience: I have not had a bad experience at John A Logan!! All my instructors have gone above and beyond to further my education and make it the best experience yet. I would choose this school over and over again. I have made so many connections with people my age and those older.

Career Services: I am not sure. I have never had worked with the career center.

Campus Resources: Our library has endless resources and computer labs are around every corner for all students to use. I have never taken advantage of the gym offered but I have also only ever heard great things about it.

Campus Quality: Many young adults in my community "bash" John A Logan. (Being a community college) I love it though! It is not too big and not too small. The most unique thing about JALC to me is that it has a big time campus but a small town feel. It has the resources and layout of a university but it is close knit as if it were a high school

5 College Senior

Campus Quality: It's small and less expensive.
