Athletics: Athletics is literally everything at JSU. Our football team gets the most attention out of all the sports. We have won OVC multiple times and we get transfers from other major schools because the team is so good. Every home game is packed with students, people from the community, and faculty and staff. We even have tailgates before every game where students secretly pre-game and eat because the food is too expensive at the concessions. The community has also been able to use the amazing school spirit to market their products by issuing student discounts for game day apparel. Most of the school's money goes towards the football players and the upkeep of the stadium. The turnout for all of our other sports is not nearly as enormous as it is for football, but there are regular fans that go to every sporting event. At JSU, we strongly support our gamecocks in every sport. Though our tutoring center, the tutors get some recognition for helping the athletes stay on top of their school work and grades. Most of the athletes at JSU have to go to the tutoring center to get study hours. The schools tries to promote the importance of academics among all students, but there are loop holes for athletes, especially football players.

Athletics: The football games are what everyone looks foreword too and are great! but that's about it.

5 College Junior

Athletics: Our coliseum was just renovated and it looks fantastic. I think they are thinking about tearing the coliseum down and build it again. They plan to pull up the football turf and put down new turf. This year our football team went all the way to the national championship. The student section was usually maxed out. The fans were great, especially during the playoff games. We have the best alumni. School spirit is awesome. The softball team went to playoffs and we had an alumni win the masters.
