Technology is abundant at JSU, and students are very fortunate to have this equipment at their disposal. Many students choose to purchase personal computers and laptops when entering college. The University provides labs during school hours in each academic building, but the dormitories do not have labs for students to use. Also, due to not having a 24-hour lab, it is very important for students to own their own laptops, just in case they decide to procrastinate on assignments (not recommended). If you are a productive student, a personal laptop is not a necessity.
There is a printing fee in the Sampson Library. Prints are 5 cents copies are 10 cents. Students are granted a certain amount for printing, and after all monies have been used, they then pay out-of-pocket. Students tend to print things not related to academics, which causes the school to supply more paper, resulting in a charge for copying and printing. Wireless connections are offered around the campus in each building, whether academic, café, or dorm. On-campus students may also purchase a router for their dorm rooms.
