Drug Safety: JSU does have policy enforcement; however, just as at any other institution, there are those who disobey. No visibility as far as I know.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: The drug scene at school is not popular and it isn't seen.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: The drug scene at my school is okay. Students occasionally smoke weed and drink on campus, but they don't do it during the day or out in the open. Most are very secretive when the partake in drug use or alcohol drinking. Peer pressure isn't big at JSU. Either you drink and smoke or you don't. Nobody will make you do anything or treat you differently if you don't.

Drugs are not a profound problem at JSU. Students are not pressured into this lifestyle because the majority of students come for the academic experience. The population understands how drugs and alcohol can affect the mind and body; keeping a distance from that atmosphere allows the University to stand above the rest. Jackson State is a drug-free school that does not tolerate drugs and alcohol.

There are numerous liquors stores surrounding the campus that brings a temptation amongst the students. You are not allowed to have any liquor in the dormitories, nor any open containers in public. Many attempt to sneak in fine wines, but more than half are punished for their lack of cooperation.
