Academic Flexibility: I work full time, have a family, and raise livestock so I'm pretty busy but they had eveing classes that I could take and a couple nights a week which was nice. I didn't have to miss too much work which also worked around my school schedule.

Online Courses: I took an online course over the summer which was a mistake. It was an 8 week course i,stead of 16 which made a little faster pace and I thought it would be nice to be home and divide my time during the nice summer but it turned out I received a low grade and decided to take it over again in the spring semester in which I did better. The class itself was fine as well as the workload, the professor was easy to get ahold of if there were any issues but I wouldn't recommend an online course unless you an truly balance everything out.

Career Services: The job prospects for post grad are pretty high, especially in the medical field.

Overall Experience: The courses offered for the degree I am pursuing were all required by the school and were well taught and organised. The professors were great to work with and understood that most of the students had families and other responsibilities outside of class. With the exception of one professor which we worked our issues out they were all well worth the time and I would recommend them to anyone.

Overall Experience: Ivy Tech is the only affordable well respected community college around the area that offers the surgical tech program and is a state school which accepts VA benifits to which I am using. I am currently working as an orderly at the local hospital and going to be starting this fall in the program to advance my career for myself and for my family. Ivy Tech is a well rounded and well respected college here in Indiana and I feel employers accept and respect degrees and experience from this college. I would recommend Ivy Tech to anyone who wants an affordable college to help them advance in their current job or make a life change and receive a degree to help improve their own lives.

Academic Experience: I haven't started the surgical tech program yet but will be in August. Up until now I appreciate the help and understanding that each professor brought to the class. The program will be a challenge and a balancing act between work, class, and home but the professors I've met already seem very professional and passionate about the success of their students so I have no doubt I will succeed.

Overall Experience: Ivy Tech is a great school to go to especially if you're a first time college student or a parent who works full time on top of going to classes. The professors understand that you have a life outside of class and that you are trying to keep your head above water sometimes. Aside from the advisor I was assigned to (which my wife I assigned as my advisor since she had gone through similar courses at her college) the faculty was very helpful and went out of their way to help me get through the classes. I am now on to the second phase of my future and am enrolled in the Surgical Tech program and am greatful for the help and understanding from my prerequisite professors to get where I am today.

Online Courses: I learned as much as I would on the online classes as I would in class. It was wonderful to have time to work on the class at any time. Peer-to-peer interaction happened by having discussion boards and professors uploaded videos and sent emails.
