4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Most of the professors are passionate about what they teach. There are a wide variety of classes to take. There are a lot of clubs and people are usually inviting and friendly. The negatives are that some classes have teachers that are not that good at teaching. The core curriculum is messed up. Picking classes and getting the ones you need can be stressful.

Overall Experience: The have a strong alumni network for communications, one professor e-mails you lots of internship opportunities. You get to take lots of classes that help you with communications marketing internships and jobs.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: A lot of people don't know where to go for sexual assault and I feel as though public safety would take a long time to solve the issue.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I like the variety of options, they have apartment style, suite style, and dorm apartments. The housing process could be easier though

Greek Life: Haven't heard much about the Greek life but I know some throw parties with controversial themes that appropriate some people's cultures

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: The facilities for varsity sports is way better and bigger than the gym for average students. They should expand the gym that is not for varsity stuents

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The experience has been really great I joined the breakdancing club which is amazing and everyone is willing to help. The only negatives are that some teachers are not very good at teaching. And the school needs to give more money to the mental health program

4 College Freshman

Athletics: People are incredibly supportive for the football team, but lackluster when it comes to other supports. The only game that I've attended where there was mediocre school spirit was the annual Cortaca football game, and even then people were barely cheering. Ithaca could do better with school spirit

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I love the school, the professors are really great and they always have office hours, so if you don't understand the material in class. If you go to their office hours you learn so much

4 College Freshman

Party Scene: Bars are great. Nightlife is great. Moonies is lit

5 College Freshman

Academics: One of the best in the nation for communciations

Diversity: They have been trying to include more diversity.

Drug Safety: If you aren't feeling well or someone else isn't feeling well, you can call campus safety and they will not write your name up at all. They really do value student saftey

Overall Experience: I'm in Park School of Communications as a Cinema and photography major and the classes are amazing. It is a very beautiful campus with an amazing college town. Cornell is also literally across the hill. The weather in the winter is blah. It is cold, but tolerable. There are great facilities around and when it is warm out, everyone is outside taking advantage of the rays. Tons of off-campus activities around Ithaca including the commons, gorges, hikes, waterfalls, and tons of festivals that take place in the commons and on the hills. The people are nice, and there is a niche for everyone.

Overall Experience: A Communications degree can land you a job. It is a Nationally renowned program with amazing professors, guest speakers such as David Muir and The CEO of Disney, and awesome equipment and studios.

As for other majors, the Theatre school, music majors, and health majors, are all taken very seriously here. Some of the best programs to get you in shape for a job.

Campus Housing: Very close to all buildings

3 College Freshman

Athletics: This is a D3 School, so sports isn't exactly a big thing here. We have a couple of really big games the whole school go to, but other than that, sporting events are rarely attended.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: There is NO school spirit and there are NO sports games that people attend other than one every year, but the intramural sports are great and our teams are pretty awesome too.

Overall Experience: Look, this is tough. I love my program, but the atmosphere at this school is seriously lacking. It feels like nothing is happening and there is nowhere to go and nothing to do every single weekend.

Health & Safety: I feel generally very safe on campus. I've never had any major issues concerning safety, although there are a few sketchy spots that aren't so great to walk alone at night. Overall though it's fine.

Overall Experience: I've loved almost every professor I've had at this school. There are some really great educators here, and I think they make the experience at this college. They're pretty open to new ideas and active student discussion.

ALSO your question about "What girls on campus are like" was REALLY sexist and you should take it down.

Overall Experience: For my journalism degree, and the Park School of Communications as a whole, the alumni network is very strong. Alumni are a huge part of getting jobs for Park students.

I'm gonna say it again, your question about girls was sexist. Take it down.

Campus Housing: Campus housing is entirely average, unless you're living in Circle or Garden Apartments, which are much nicer than the dorms.

When students are asked to evaluate their overall experience at IC, they often look at the lessons they learned both inside and outside of the classroom. Students who go beyond the social aspect of college and get involved end up both gaining the most experience and having the most fun. Many students love IC because of its size. Sometimes, it’s hard to walk anywhere on campus without bumping into someone you know. With such dreadfully cold winters, the academic programs and well-organized student groups are the main reasons students come back every year. Also, the great size allows students to connect with other students in their majors and their professors/advisers, as well.

Like many things in life, students’ experiences with IC are simply what they make of them. If you sit in your dorm room for four years, you will be miserable. If you experience the life Ithaca has to offer and go outside of your comfort zone, you most likely won’t regret your decision to attend IC. The school’s high retention rate proves this. IC offers a great mix of academics and everything else college life should offer—friends, fun, professional opportunities, active campus life, and a time to learn and grow.
