4 College Sophomore

Athletics: Iowa State is notorious for having a lot of school spirit. There are a lot of students that get involved as much as they can for the simple fact they love the sport. The parking lot is always full when we have home games, a lot of people camp out for days before the event for tickets or to be some of the first ones in.

4 College Junior

Athletics: ISU football and basketball are huge draws, and because Iowa doesn't have any professional sports, the community gets really hyped up over sporting events which is AWESOME.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: Everyone is involved with something, even if it isn't sports related there is a place for everyone. The great thing about this school is that you don't have to be the best, as long as you give your best.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: Athletics are a very big deal at Iowa State University whether that be varsity sports or intramural sports. Varsity sports like Cyclone football or hockey games are things you should go to at least once! The energy and support from the students is unreal. Even if you don't like a sport you can't help but get up and cheer with everyone else at the game! Iowa state also offers great activities for the not so athletic person like H2O Battleship.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: The school spirit is amazing here. Nearly everyone here shows spirit in their teams.

Athletics are a big part of Iowa State life. The football team is an especially big part, and students seem to enjoy attending and supporting the various sporting events. For those who just want to participate in sports for fun, intramural sports leave nothing to be desired. Students from all walks of life find something that tickles their fancy. Students enjoy both intramural and varsity sports, and there is a lot of pride associated with both. Many students also enjoy tailgating at the games. Iowa State has something for athletes of all abilities and is a great place for fans of sports action!

Athletic activity is hard to ignore at Iowa State. If you love the collegiate spirit and strong athletic presence on campus, or you want a college that allows you to participate in sports at various competitive and skill levels, then Iowa State is for you. If you prefer a quieter, less sports-prominent atmosphere, you might want to think about other schools.
