Off-Campus Housing: i dont know much about off- campus housing

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: they could give out more scholarships because it is a private school and very expensive

5 College Freshman

Campus Food: The food selection is amazing

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I think this school is great and the campus is beautiful

Party Scene: The party scene at Iona college is not very large. There are parties here and there that are off campus and I believe that they do help the students to connect, but they are not very often or are not heard of by many people. I believe that the party scene has the same impact that it will have on any other school. Students go out to have fun for a night and may make a couple friends, but there really is no ultimate impact.

Campus Food: The food at Iona College, I believe has more of a variety than you find at most colleges, but often times it is not cooked to the best quality. Our campus has two dining halls so a person can choose to eat at either at almost any time. At both cafeterias the variety of foods a person can select from are unlimited. The options range from grilled cheese and burgers to wings and ribs. There are also different food spots where you can get just pizza and pasta at one or just salads at another. The food offered is healthy as well, there are salad bars as well as sushi bars and you can also make your own sandwich. Lastly there is a new meal served for breakfast, lunch, and dinner that is different each day of the week. The dining are very convenient and may be one of the better ones a person will find in a college campus.

Campus Housing: Living on campus at Iona college is very great. The atmosphere is very friendly and it is very diverse. The dorm rooms that I currently live in, I believe are the nicest. Every one is close together making it easier to come together as a college community and the rooms are perfect for the freshmen to experience. Most dorm rooms have a double suite, giving each person the opportunity to make new friends as well as contain their own personal space. The first year, as a freshman a person cannot choose who they room with which is an excellent way to ensure students make new friends as well as stay connected with old ones. As a sophomore students may pick their own roommates, therefor the housing process is very unique, but also convenient. As a college student myself I believe everyone should at least dorm one year because it helps you connect with the students and get involved with campus life.

Health & Safety: There are resources that are available for students who are the victim of sexual assault

2 College Freshman

Party Scene: There are hardly any parties

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: The rooms are okay the bathrooms could be refurbished a little though

2 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: I don't really like the people here except for the one's I hang out with of course. People seem like either they hate you or they really like you

4 College Freshman

Administration: The faculty and teachers are nice of course there are going to be those you like and those you dislike. But due to the low diversity there were not many protests or demonstrations at school which I did not like.

4 College Freshman

Majors: The majors here are very good and some majors such as biology and chemistry are of course going to be harder than others.

3 College Freshman

Local Area: There are no nearby colleges/universities but there is a high school nearby and it gets annoying when they come out because they go to the same food places as we do.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: We have a really good basketball team and other teams too, but basketball i the one that gets most of the attention. We have been in the NCAA Tournament multiple times.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: The food is alright it just gets really repetitive sometimes by the end of the year it gets annoying and especially since they took down a diner that was right next to campus to build another dorm.

4 College Freshman

Academics: The Academics is really good and you may learn a lot, although I sometimes wish it was a bit more challenging and would go more in depth with certain things and have more conversations and talk about certain topics in today's society.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: Greek life is there but it's not really talked about or a major factor in everyday school life.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: Basketball is huge we're up with the best in the country and always make march madness but other than basketball nothing is really big. The next thing up would be rugby and rugby is only big for homecoming

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Campus security is pretty good with keeping us safe but off campus things could sometimes get shady around new ro

3 College Freshman

Administration: With some things the administration can be too strict but with others they're not bad, I have lots of fun, I go out I hook up I drink just don't be stupid about it and you won't get in trouble

5 College Freshman

Party Scene: I have a great nightlife at Iona. Every Wednesday through saturday lots of people go out. Me personally, I went a few Wednesdays but every single thursday-saturday

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I live on campus but I hear living off campus is pretty fun and allows for more freedom and I can't wait to do it my junior and senior year

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: Good amount of Frat and Sorority parties and if you go to them make connections so you get invited every time that's what I did

3 College Freshman

Local Area: There is stuff to do around town you just need to find out what people are doing and when

The best part of going to Iona is the small community you become a part of. There are so many benefits for students, due to the school's size and location. The small classroom sizes provide students with the opportunities to engage themselves in the classroom on a daily basis. Along with the chance to share personal thoughts in the classroom, students truly appreciate the professors they have had. What makes the professors so meaningful to them is the fact they actually know them by name and they truly believe in their immediate future upon graduating. Many students would choose to go to Iona again if they had a chance to do it over. This is not to say your four years as a Gael will be easy, as you are guaranteed to face many challenges of all sizes, but what makes Iona so special is the community that is there to support you.

If you are thinking about coming to Iona, be sure to be ready to do big things. Although the community and location are ideal, you will have to work. The opportunity for growth through student organizations on campus and the fact that New York City is nearby helps graduating students as they look to move on after college. Your experience at Iona is really judged by how willing you are to do your part. Iona may be the perfect fit for you if you do not want to feel out of place at a big school and are looking to improve or even challenge yourself as an individual.
