3 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There is not as much as off campus dining as students would like to but the ones that they have are pretty good.

3 College Junior

Administration: The campus strictness isn't that bad.

3 College Junior

Party Scene: You will definitely find fun things happening in the bars.

2 College Junior

Scholarships: When it comes to the financial aid proces, it's a bit disorganized. I had a really tough time with them and trying to figure out exactly how much I will be receiving. I wanted to transfer out plenty of times but I'm almost graduating so it doesn't make sense now. I will just be another college graduate with way too much student loan debt while they are sitting pretty building a new dorm I helped payed for..

3 College Junior

Campus Food: The campus food is more or less every other college. There's nothing really special. Some perks are you can use your meal card off campus.

Campus Housing: Overall Iona is a good school if you have the money for it. The tuition and fees plus room and board is pretty costly, even with a scholarship.

Off-Campus Housing: i don't leave off-campus but i know people who who. there are quite a few options, but the parking can be a hassle.

Off-Campus Dining: There's quite a few options that take the meal card. Gemelli's can be expensive bit it's very good.

Administration: The security guards are pretty strict in letting people in the building. For freshman at least, visitors can only stay until 2am and they can have people stay overnight friday-sunday

Party Scene: There are a few off campus parties. It's most a bar school though.

Scholarships: I got a very good amount of financial aid. They're generous in their offers. The only tip i have is to file you fafsa asap.

Campus Food: I think we should have more money on our meal card, especially off-cmpus. I do think we have a good amount of options though and the staff is so nice!

Campus Housing: The dorm building i live in is small but i like it because everyone is so close. I made some great friends

Off-Campus Dining: At first it seems like a lot, and after you end up eating the same things over and over again, and the only thing open late night is McDonald's which isn't the healthiest choice.

3 College Freshman

Administration: Like said before, the strictness is more lenient towards the minor issues rather than the bigger ones.

2 College Freshman

Party Scene: I'm not a fan of parties, so i stay indoors when they are happening.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: I had to deal with a lot of issues with my finical aid at the end of the first semester, and it was quite a hassle.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: Some of the food is decent, like the grilled cheese with chicken and bacon is very good, however there is some food that after eating it, you feel bait nauseous.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Some of the non important rules are too heavily enforced rather than the more important ones, ex: I got in trouble once for playing a jelly bean game (Bean Boozled) with friends for being too loud.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: The few places we have are good but can get old

3 College Sophomore

Administration: It is good when it needs to be

1 College Sophomore

Scholarships: The people who work there hate there job and are nasty.

3 College Sophomore

Party Scene: It is usually hit or miss

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: The menu gets old after a while

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I love it! the bonding is great and the experience of being on your own is great.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

The best part of going to Iona is the small community you become a part of. There are so many benefits for students, due to the school's size and location. The small classroom sizes provide students with the opportunities to engage themselves in the classroom on a daily basis. Along with the chance to share personal thoughts in the classroom, students truly appreciate the professors they have had. What makes the professors so meaningful to them is the fact they actually know them by name and they truly believe in their immediate future upon graduating. Many students would choose to go to Iona again if they had a chance to do it over. This is not to say your four years as a Gael will be easy, as you are guaranteed to face many challenges of all sizes, but what makes Iona so special is the community that is there to support you.

If you are thinking about coming to Iona, be sure to be ready to do big things. Although the community and location are ideal, you will have to work. The opportunity for growth through student organizations on campus and the fact that New York City is nearby helps graduating students as they look to move on after college. Your experience at Iona is really judged by how willing you are to do your part. Iona may be the perfect fit for you if you do not want to feel out of place at a big school and are looking to improve or even challenge yourself as an individual.
