Overall Experience: This is the worst possible school to attend, you will get raped or sexually assaulted and no one will care, in fact, they will blame you.

5 College Freshman

Athletics: Sports at Iona are apart of the experience MAAC Champs!

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I only plan on attending for the first two years. Not a school you would want to spend all 4 years in college at.

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: At Iona we are the only non Ivy school on the East coast to have an indoor rowing tank. Not only is that incredibly impressive, but our gyms are beautiful and are redone every few years.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Finding Iona was a godsend. I really was only partially considering going here, but once I stepped on campus I knew that this was home to me. I am excited to be on campus, and try to be as involved as possible.

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: Courses and professors were decent but not extraordinary. Not many courses since the school is small.

2 College Senior

Overall Experience: There were some job expo events, but I did not experience any help in getting jobs or internships.

Health & Safety: Campus security has a role on campus and I feel safe. There is good communication between security and students.

3 College Senior

Campus Housing: I did not live on campus, but many people I know enjoyed the experience.

3 College Senior

Greek Life: I personally am not interested in Greek life, but it has a large presence on campus.

The best part of going to Iona is the small community you become a part of. There are so many benefits for students, due to the school's size and location. The small classroom sizes provide students with the opportunities to engage themselves in the classroom on a daily basis. Along with the chance to share personal thoughts in the classroom, students truly appreciate the professors they have had. What makes the professors so meaningful to them is the fact they actually know them by name and they truly believe in their immediate future upon graduating. Many students would choose to go to Iona again if they had a chance to do it over. This is not to say your four years as a Gael will be easy, as you are guaranteed to face many challenges of all sizes, but what makes Iona so special is the community that is there to support you.

If you are thinking about coming to Iona, be sure to be ready to do big things. Although the community and location are ideal, you will have to work. The opportunity for growth through student organizations on campus and the fact that New York City is nearby helps graduating students as they look to move on after college. Your experience at Iona is really judged by how willing you are to do your part. Iona may be the perfect fit for you if you do not want to feel out of place at a big school and are looking to improve or even challenge yourself as an individual.
