Academic Flexibility: There is a wide variety of days and times that classes are offered so finding a schedule that best fits for me is never too challenging. However, getting the specific classes I need are sometimes difficult because they fill up fast or there just aren't enough sections.

Overall Experience: I have grown an attachment to Cal Poly. Cal Poly has given me so many opportunities and memories that I wouldn't trade for any other experience at another school.

Overall Experience: Class sizes are pretty reasonable. Sometimes I wish they were larger so I can get into the class. However, on a reasonable level it's good that they are small so that the professor can dedicate more time the students. It would be nicer if there were classes offered.

Overall Experience: I don't know very much about any job or internship prospects or even an alumni network.

Online Courses: I have only taken one online course, which was for introduction to psychology. There was a reasonable amount of professor/student interaction. I think I prefer the traditional classroom experience to online courses. I feel like I learn more effectively when I can hear a professor lecture as opposed to doing most of the learning on my own by spending hours reading. Online courses would be very convenient if I knew how to manage my time better. There is little to no peer to peer interaction.

Student Body: The student body is quite diverse, which is great. There are a number of campus activities that go on that help to unite the student body. They allow us to exchange ideas and creativity with one another. There are many groups that are active on campus and make their presence and purpose known, whether they may be ethnic, religious, sexual, etc.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I get a reasonable amount of financial aid and the rest I am able to pay. The price of tuition itself seems expensive and I personally think that higher education in the United States should be free. However, the implications of making that possible given our country's financial state are unknown to me. The financial aid office at Cal Poly is very helpful and had always helped with whatever concerns I've had.

Career Services: I'm not really sure since I haven't used the career center. However, they often hold workshops for resumes, personal statements and they bring employers so that students can look for job opportunities. They seem to offer a variety of services which is really great. They even lend out business attire for students when they do interviews.

Academic Experience: I am currently a Biochemistry major. Most of my introductory science classes were really great such as General Chemistry and the Foundational Biology series. The professors were very engaging and showed overall concern that their classes were grasping the content. However, I noticed as I started to reach the upper division classes the professors, most of whom were retirees, paid less attention to whether the class was understanding the content. They showed less interest in the success of their students. There are plenty of research opportunities, which is really great. I have never used the services of the career center, but they are known to provide help to those who are interested in pursuing internships and looking for jobs after they graduate. The workload for a Biochemistry major is definitely heavy. I'm starting to believe that it will be impossible to graduate within 4 years.

Academic Experience: Registering for classes for organic chemistry are almost impossible. Multiple sections for the organic chemistry series are scarce and fill up very fast. The workload isn't very heavy as far as homework, but studying for the class on your own takes the most time. The chemistry department offers a few special study options, which is great.

Campus Resources: Some of the on campus resources that I have been able to take advantage of include the library, the student health services center, the bronco student center, etc. Cal Poly just opened a new recreation center called the BRIC equipped with many things for physical activity and it's state of the art facilities give the student a great opportunity to stay fit. I really enjoy the library and the BRIC and the student health service center is so useful for when I need shots or a health check up. These facilities seem to really put our tuition money to good use.
