Overall Experience: It's okay to go if you can keep up with the pace.

4 Recent Alumnus

Overall Experience: The school is accredited by the American Veterinarian Medical Association (AVMA). These credits must be obtained by the school for the classes to count.

3 Recent Alumnus

Academic Flexibility: I have class from 8am to 4pm. The classes are already laid out for the term. The only frustrations I have experienced not working as much as I would like to due to my classes.

Recent Alumnus

Online Courses: There's no online classes. It's all on the campus.

3 Recent Alumnus

Tuition & Financial Aid: I feel like it's too high for having a set classes for only eight weeks before moving to another set.

Academic Experience: The work load is a lot for someone who isn't used to having like five things due on the same day to take, but the teachers do give you time to complete it. The last two months of my program is externship. The externship is when I get to work in a veterinarian clinic as a tech to hands on experienced.

Academic Experience: The professors are approachable for the most part. Each professor teaches differently just in case something overlaps in a different class the students get a different aspect of the subject. Most of the vet tech students study when they aren't in class or working.

4 Recent Alumnus

Career Services: They have people there to help find their graduates jobs and even people who don't go to school there find jobs.

Campus Resources: The computers in the classrooms and library are the only sure way to make sure that your work is getting done. If you bring in your own laptop, then be prepared for lagging and possibly some disconnecting.

Overall Experience: It's a great school, but the work load is intense. The classes get harder in the program as you go further into it.

Career Services: They help place you in a veterinary clinic after graduation. they find many places that will be open to have you work there after graduation.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Everything is straightforward. You can always take another scholarship to the office and they will add it to your tuition payments right away.

Academic Flexibility: We have a set schedule that we attend. But if something comes up the teachers understand and will help you figure out a way to get around that.

Campus Resources: We have one library, it has everything any of the programs would need for classes. The teachers' offices have anything else you would need.

College Senior

Online Courses: There are no online courses for the program.

Academic Experience: The curriculum is fast paced and very extensive. You learn so much in just 8 weeks that you could do half of the job you are going to school to be. The school has a kennel facility attached to the building, allowing a lot of hands on time with the animals. The teachers are all helpful and if you have a question about how to do anything they are willing to drop everything and help you. With it being so fast paced you always have a large workload, but if you make the time to do it all you should not fall behind. We can do internships whenever we want throughout the program, they are considered extra credit for our classes. The last term of the program we are graded on an externship we do at a veterinary clinic of our choosing, so we get hands on experience before we are actually out in the work force.

Academic Experience: The academics of the Vet Tech Institute has a very high rating for many people. You become close with all of the teachers since there are only 50 or less people per class group. You get divided in halves and thirds sometimes for classes, so everybody is able to have a hands on experience and be able to talk one on one with the teachers. We work closely with shelters around our area as they are the ones that provide us with our animals, namely Shelbyville Animal Control.

4 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: I am still able to work and support myself.
