Diversity: We have a somewhat diverse campus. A lot of the clubs and such focus on outreach, so that is helpful.

2 College Senior

Scholarships: It is so expensive to go here, and the aid is not super helpful. I am taking this quiz right now because I need money due to some unexpected changes that happened to my aid.

Health & Safety: I think we have a really good campus police system. They are very helpful, and hard working.

Guys & Girls: I do not like the ebooks that we switched to. Most of my classmates feel the same way.

Weather: Campus is located in the middle of Indiana, so it's all over the board, covering all four seasons. The weather can stay nice or not so nice consistently, or it can change its mind several times within a couple of days. We get all weather, rain, snow, shine, humidity, sleet, ice, etc. Like I said, it's Indiana, so what would you expect? Winter get cold and quite snowy and icy, and spring and fall could be anything from hot to cold whenever they feel like. Only once in four years have I ever seen the campus close for bad winter weather, however the campus is usually good about clearing it for safety and the professors are usually understanding towards commuters during any bad weather. During the sunny early fall/late spring days it is no surprise to see some sunbathers around campus. The classrooms are usually well-regulated to comfortable temperature for the given season, although some rooms will experience some uncomfortable warmth if the wintery chill surprisingly drops off before the heat can be remembered to be turned down.

Guys & Girls: While professors do keep us busy, the guys and girls at my school still find time throughout the week for active social lives. One spot of major interest is McConn, a student-run coffee shop located inside the student center, and ever popular meeting and hanging out spot for practically the whole student body. The Game Room is well-used, especially the ping-pong tables. On a beautiful afternoon one has the potential of walking by a game of campus golf, a popular sport involving golf clubs, tennis balls, and various targeted doors, walls, statues, and other 'holes' across campus. Many activities hosted by the school or various student-groups are available for participation each week, especially on the weekends, and the Globe Theater is occasionally packed for a showing of a recent trendy movie. And the students' taste in dress differ as much as these taste in interests. Walking through the student center, I may pass any number of styles, from hipster to casual jeans/hoodie to professional business attire to nursing or military uniforms; every once in a while I may even pass a kid in a costume (not on Halloween even), and several times I have spotted a group of serious cosplaying girls.

Drug Safety: My school, in conjunction with its Wesleyan affiliation, hold high standards for itself and its students. IWU is dedicated to keeping its campus alcohol and drug free, and does not hold back when enforcing this point. Enrolling students sign an agreement to refrain from alcohol and drugs while attending IWU, and we are held to this agreement. Few incidences ever occur of students breaking this agreement, and usually those students are found out and punished appropriately.

Technology: Well, Im not sure since I'm an online student.

Scholarships: I didn't expect to get any help but I did. It went very smooth.

Majors: I am very happy with the program I am in. I just returned to school after 20+ years. Yes, I plan to attend IWU for my bachelors degree. Ultimately, I plan to open my own computer information technology consulting business and teach middle school students about it as well. I have no concerns about finding a job as I plan to create jobs.

Majors: I had no difficulties getting into this program. There was nothing abnormal and I would do it all over again.

Off-Campus Dining: There's a ton of options all on one street not too far away.

Academics: I love being an art major! Everyone else has to write papers and read, meanwhile I'm painting pretty pictures as homework and essentially making more money than they will at it. I love gloating about it.

4 College Senior

Scholarships: It was a bit difficult at first in order to understand my situation, but I got much more financial aid than most students who attend IWU, with only one small loan that would be easily payable.

Off-Campus Housing: While Marion isn't too friendly of a city, with a high crime rate, there are good apartments, which are very close to campus, available to students. However, I do know that there is a regulation that IWU will not allow students to live off-campus unless they are over 21 or a senior. I believe that this rule is very unfair, increasing the overall cost of going to college for the students. I think if students are able to afford living off-campus then the should be allowed to live off-campus and save on cost.

Majors: I truly believe that IWU's art program is fantastic, they have the proper technology required for all of the different art majors--anything from ceramics to graphic design. However, there are certain improvements that NEED to be set in motion and cannot be overlooked. The painting and illustration rooms, which are frequently painted in, do not have windows which open, making the rooms susceptible to dangerous paint fumes. The ceramics department only have one firing kiln that works at the moment, the other three are broken and in major need of repair. Also, the mac lab, though a fantastic resource with most of the technologies that we need, does have certain problems with its projectors, limited printers and scanners, and deserve to be a 24-hour service for the digital media majors, such as photography. I also know that photography majors are really itching for a larger studio, especially for shooting large-scale cars, furniture, etc. It is my hope that IWU begins to fund the art department in the same manner that they treat their nursing and science majors, and hopefully to renovate the art building with AT LEAST proper ventilation for the painting rooms. I sincerely hope that someone takes action on this issue.

Majors: Internships are looked over by the art major's personal adviser and are very easy to follow. However, depending on the employer, they are not required to pay the student, but I believe it is a great way to learn on-the-job for our future careers.

Diversity: Due to this establishment being an extremely proud Christian institution who keep very traditional points of view, there isn't much room for accepting others who do not fit into the mold of Christianity and its rules of what is acceptable. However, it is my firm belief that the students who attend IWU are much more open-minded and accepting than the administrators who run IWU.

2 College Senior

Weather: As an art major, weather is always bad whenever I need to bring my projects and canvases over to the art building/my dorm. Also, living in the midwest, the weather fluctuates extremely several times a day.
