4 College Freshman

Local Area: The Campus Is Amazing – The town is very nice and the campus is wonderful but I don't know much about what is around the university.

4 College Senior

Majors: Theatre and Psychology Double Major – I adore both of my majors. The theatre major we have a HUGE amount of hands on experience. There are a lot of opportunities to learn all aspects of Theatre. We are very involved in the productions. The workload is fair. I enjoy my psychology major. I would like to learn more than theories, but that is what you learn in undergrad in pretty much any University. The facilities for both majors are wonderful. The curriculum is great. I just had an internship for my theatre major so that is good.

4 College Senior

Academics: Fantastic Professors – The professors are interesting and are involved in their area of study. I've never had a teachers assistant teach a class. The workload is fair. The theatre professors in particular are wonderful an interested in their students personally. The curriculum is good. The only complaint I have is the price to attend.

4 College Senior

Local Area: Good, Clean Environment. Depending on where you are living, there are multiple things to do on campus. You do not have to worry about constant party's. There is not a huge amount of off campus things to do, but there is enough. And there is a Starbucks.

3 College Sophomore

Weather: It Doesn't – It snows a ton there. Classes are never cancelled. However most the walk is indoors so it's okay.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Food: Yes Please! We have many options for meal plans and you will always be able to find one great for you. Between IWU points and the dining hall, you will never go hungry.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Pretty Good – They keep us safe there. Have guys walk you to where you need to go at night and campus police are always there.

4 College Senior

Scholarships: Fin Aid – They seem to try to help students, but a good amount leave after the first semester or year regardless because of the price.

4 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: Off-Campus Food – More and more chains are coming to Marion because of IWU. Plenty of places to eat that are chains or actual town diners. The cheapest local eats still allow smoking, but have massive portions for price. Hardly any student discounts, Richards (very close/closest) has 10% off. Not many (if any) expensive/exclusive places.

Campus Quality: Campus Blds – Most buildings are pleasing to look at. The art buildings desperately need help. The stud center is pretty nice to chill. Library is alright, but Ball States is way better. SAC tries hard, lots of intramurals, good amount of student life. rec is impressive, new chapel is dumb and all for publicity. Education, Nursing, Communications/Writing, Religious, Theatre majors have a lot of advantages. Business is one of the worst. History is in good standing. Math/cpu majors and Nursing/science new bld soon. Campus Aesthetics divide us from the community and are overly ornate.

Campus Quality: The campus is absolutely GORGEOUS! Our student ctr looks like a mall, we several food options, really nice dorms wth air and heat that we can control ourselves. The community at Iwu is very strong. ducation and nursing our 2 of the top majors at our school. Pretty much all of the programs at this school are great. they're really intense so they give you the best. Chorale is the top choir at this school that travels the usa and the world and is by far the most amazing group of singers I have ever heard in my ife! Iwu has great performing arts! All of the profs are for the most part pretty cool and helpful.

Administration: Strict as Sin! This is a great school but by far the most strict school in indiana. It feels more like a daycare or maybe middle school at the most. they're really strict with guys and girls together, we have curfew, no parties, no greek life, they just now allowed dancing within restriction of course and we have a dress code. guy and girl dorms only, no co-ed. Get caught drinking, smoking or having sex and you're talking about automatic expulsion and if you get pregnant and you're not married at any point during the school year, you're instantly kicked out. There s mandatory chapel mon/wed/fri that does effect your graduation. A c- is a failing grade at this school and you will have to re-take the course if you have a c- or below. This is a small private christian school so its very religius and very strict.

Academics: Indiana Wesleyan has great programs. I'm going for Nursing, and they are well known for the program. It provides an awesome Christian environment to learn and grow in Christ. The professors seem really involved in not only teaching the students but also making sure they are being successful. The library has special private study rooms so students can get away and focus on studying for a big test or work on projects. Overall it's an amazing school!

College Sophomore

Transportation: Everything You Need on Campus! Class, cafeteria, bookstore, library, and convience store are all a short walk from dorms - less than ten minutes! So, no transportation needed. If you do want to get off campus, best bet is fnding a friend with a car (haven't noticed any city busing). So many students are willing to give you a ride, if you just ask -- I know from experience!

Academics: Excellent Nursing Program – I am in the Nursing progam at IWU, and it is excellent. The profs are incredibly knowledgeable; and not just book-knowledge, but lots of practical knowledge from years of practice. The profs are also very kind - their office doors are open any time to discuss the material, nursing as a whole, life after college, or anything at all. The program is challenging, but I for one am very happy to know that I will be as well prepared as I can be when I graduate and enter the field.

Local Area: The Essentials, Not Too Much More - but the College Is Worth It – Marion isn't too spectacular, but it has what a college student needs: a Super Walmart, a Meijers, drugstores, several brand-name restaurants, a cinema, movie store, a small mall with a Penny's and soon to get a Khols, a roller rink, a bowling alley, a tea house, and lots of ice cream stores! There isn't "night life" as such, but if that's what your looking for in college, this isn't the right university for you anyway. Even if Marion isn't the most stunning city, I have found that this college is well worth it!
One more note: everyone loves IWU students - we're reputed to be friendly and kind. Once you introduce yourself as such, they'll smile and say, "Welcome! Good to meet you!"

4 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Greek Students – I haven't yet known of any Greek ethnic backgrounds

5 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: The menu on campus is incredible, the variety of choices are endless, regardless of what your feeling like at any particular moment. It is all incredibly good.

3 College Junior

Guys & Girls: There are definitely a lot more girls at IWU because of the great nursing program. There are a lot of very conservative people, but definitely a wide range of people who have all sorts of views on life. People are really friendly and welcoming. There are a lot of missionary kids and pastor's kids. Almost everyone has recently been on a missions trip overseas (and like to talk about everywhere they've been!). There isn't a huge social aspect to IWU - most people hang out somewhere else for the weekend. But that's actually improving a lot as time goes on.

1 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Housing - Impossible – IWU is very strict with housing policies. They are quite rigid, and make it very difficult to live off-campus. Technically, only seniors or those over 23 (I think; can't remember the exact age) are allowed to live off-campus. If it were an option, I would have had an apartment as a sophomore. Everyone has a lot of issues with housing assignments also - another difficult process.

Let me also say - the dorm life at IWU is really great with fun community. I just wish they would make it a little easier, and at least give us the option to live off-campus!

4 College Junior

Academics: The professors of IWU, as a general statement, are extremely helpful, understanding, and reasonable. Some ask quite a bit of you, but the majority of it seems very worthwhile. I have heard otherwise from a few other students, but my experience with professors has been that they are all really just trying to help you learn and teach you how to learn more on your own.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I would STRONGLY recommend IWU to someone looking for a school with strong residence life. I have heard of no other school that doe sit better!

5 College Sophomore

Campus Quality: Since the 1990s, $200 million in new construction and renovation have transformed IWU into a net-debt-free, ultra-modern, student-focused, high-tech university. Forty-six construction projects have been completed, including 20 residence halls, 16 academic/administrative buildings, and 10 adult and professional studies structures.

3 College Sophomore

Diversity: The school is pouring resources into promoting diversity. There's a long way to go, but progress is certainly being made.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: IWU is a Christ-centered academic community with caring professors.
