Overall Experience: IWU is great, I love it here. I am glad that I chose IWU to transfer to. Friendly atmosphere, beautiful campus, lots of activities, and it's safe.

3 College Freshman

Weather: Windy City – The campus is small, so weather isn't a huge issue. You can make it anywhere you need to be in about 5 minutes, so even if you forget your sweatshirt you'll be fine. The walk between the East Village (North and South halls) and the Student Center is a wind tunnel, so unless you have killer hairspray, don't try too hard to look pretty on blustery days.

Campus Housing: New and Modern – The university has been around for a long while, but the entire campus has undergone renovations and new construction. Every dorm is fantastic, though the newest - North and South Halls - are the best by far. Everything is brick and beautiful.

Overall Experience: Officers are always ready to help with any questions you may have, classes are well organized and instructures are friendly and follow up with you as you move on in your degree.

5 College Sophomore

Parking: Parking surounds the building keeping parking close and in a well lit area.

Drug Safety: Drug Satety – My school has a religous learning included with our classes, so students on drugs are not intersted in joining.

5 College Senior

Campus Food: Supreme Dining – The dining facilities at Indiana Wesleyan are superb! There are many options ranging from pizza to chinese. Also, all the nutition facts are available so you can pick smarter choices regarding your diet.

2 College Sophomore

Transportation: There is no transportation around the school. If you want to get somewhere, you have to drive!

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Girl to Guy Rato 4:1 – The girl to guy ratio here is awful. I am a girl and it seems to me like there are not enough boys to chose from!

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Marion, Indiana – The restaurants located around Indiana Wesleyan University are not very college friendly. They close early and they do not offer college student discounts. There are many fast-food restaurants, but not many sit down restaurants.

Greek Life: No Greeks Here – The Greek life on campus is practically non-existent.

Diversity: Mainly White Population – There isn't a lot of diversity on campus at IWU. There are mostly white students. I don't feel that other races are discriminated against, I just think that they are in the minority. I occasionally encounter students of different races, but the majority of students in the classes I am in are white.

Technology: Not Very Convenient to Use – The dorms do not have wireless internet. We can print in the library, but we have to pay for the paper that we use. The computers in the library are not the newest computers. It has been extremely helpful to have my own printer in my room. It also has been helpful to have my own computer, as the library is inconvenient during the busy times of the semester.

Off-Campus Housing: Highly Recommended to All – Great choices and locations. Affordable housing and safe environment to live in.

Scholarships: One thing that I love about Indiana Wesleyan University is that they did everything within their power to make it possible for me to attend their college. They know that it is harder to go there because it is a private school, making it more expensive. They were very helpful and genuinely involved in the financial aid process.

Athletics: Go Wildcats – Indiana Wesleyan University doesn't have much when it comes to sports. The main sports that we have are basketball and soccer, we don't have football but the school is in the process of making that happen. One thing I do like is that female and male sports seem to be treated equally.

Academics: Profs Genuinely Care – I have enjoyed almost all of my profs that I have had from both the education and art departments (I am an Art Education Major). They really care about you as a student and how they can help you improve. Some of the profs may be seen as too tough or hard to please, but they are very purposeful with how they give criticism.

Weather: Because IWU is located in Indiana, you should expect drastic weather changes. Also, campus is usually known for being pretty windy.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Consistent Campus Police Presence = Safe Campus – Campus Police are patrolling campus 24 hours a day. Although Marion's crime rate is a little too high for comfort, I always feel safe on campus. If you feel unsafe walking to your car or back to your dorm late at night, you can call campus police and they will escort you for safety. Campus crime is incredibly low, almost non-existent.

Drug Safety: No Drugs Here – As far as I know, there are little to no drugs present at Indiana Wesleyan. I have never heard of or seen anyone doing drugs on our campus. There may be a few people who smoke, but even that it pretty much unheard of.

Party Scene: Stay on Campus – Your best option for something to do in the evenings is to either stay on campus or to drive to Kokomo where there is better shopping and dining options. I prefer to stay on campus and hang out with friends, maybe rent a movie from the campus rental store.

Local Area: I would rate the atmosphere of Marion with a B-. I am giving it this grade because there isn't a whole lot for college students to do in the area. I know there is a bowling alley and a few parks, but that is about it. Marion is great for food and grocery shopping, but lacks activities for us to take part in.

Campus Quality: This is a difficult question to answer, as my courses are online. But from what I understand the facilities are wonderful.

Administration: This is a question I really can't answer, as my classes are online.

Campus Quality: Unique Parts of IWU – One of the most unique part of IWU that I am most closely associated with is the Leadership program that is offered here. It is one of the most practical up and coming majors that anyone can take, and it transforms peoples lives. This major can easily be tacked onto any other major, or one can dive into it to its fullest for an opportunity to experience a major at its fullest. It also provides an abundance of practical opportunities that consist of real world experiences, practical learning, and travel/study abroad.
