1 College Freshman

Scholarships: Outside of the academic scholarship available, all of the scholarships requirements are intended for diversity outside of my control. In other words, I am not African American or Hispanic, I do not have parents that are alumni, I am not a Nursing major or a Education major, I am not a transfer student, and there is no Weselyan church relatively close to my home that I regularly attend. Although it is great that my school awards these diversities, I need financial aid just as badly, and find it largely inconvenient that I do not have more control over the requirements.

Majors: Excellent programs and I feel I am being trained well for my future career and life in general.

Campus Housing: I love the community and friendships. the dorms are fun and they provide a good learning environment as well as fun activities. We do have group things that encourage getting to know people. We also have meals together at times with our unit. The dorms have a great lounge where people can hang out and then there are places for quiet study also. Great place to be a student.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: I received some grants and scholarships. They were great about honoring my academic work and my Church involvement as well.

Guys & Girls: A great mix of people. Diverse in interests and looks. You are able to find a niche here as it is a great University. The best part is that the Christian atmosphere is just what I need to continue my life calling. I have met great people as a Freshman and am forming lifelong friendships.

Athletics: They are a big part of our school spirit and unity on and off campus. IWU is a family and the sports are a big part of that.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There are options, but not enough to really have a great selection. Pricing is comnparable to other places. However, best mexican restaurant around!

3 College Junior

Technology: The Jackson Library on campus has a decent sized computer lab which is used quite frequently by students. Different building around campus also have computer labs which are more often used by students whose major focuses in that building. Some dorms also have a lab with a couple computers. The IT service is helpful... as long as you have a Mac. They don't do hardware fixes on PC computers, which was very frustrating when my PC began giving me trouble mid-semester. The WiFi has recently sped up considerably and is more reliable, and it is available in every building on campus with the exception of a few dorms (in the rooms).

3 College Junior

Scholarships: I receive a significant amount of financial aid from IWU and other scholarships. They send out an email once or twice a semester reminding you of your requirements for maintaining your aid/scholarships (such as GPA, enrollment status, etc.). The only frustration I've had is when trying to find out about changes to my aid. Sometimes I've had to go to the financial aid office to get help, other times they can't help me there and I have to call my adviser specifically. It's just a little frustrating to try and navigate the different channels of communication based on a specific question.

Weather: The weather is very finicky in the Mid-West. One day it will be sunny and 65 degrees and the next it will be snowing. Classes never get cancelled for the weather but the academic buildings are close to most dorms.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are a decent number of restaurants in Marion. A few favorites mine, like Texas Roadhouse, are not in the area.

4 College Freshman

Campus Quality: IWU's campus is very modern and well-built. The student center is a nice place for hanging out or doing homework and is very age appropriate.

3 College Junior

Majors: Im happy with the skills Im learning through my program but a little nervous on job outlook after talking to other graduates of my degree!

3 College Freshman

Technology: I never have a problem getting to a computer when I need to. They are not top notch, brand new computers, but they get the job done.

4 College Freshman

Parking: There are only a few places on campus that I'm not allowed to park, since I'm a freshman. For the most part I never have a problem finding parking close to where I need to go! There is a designated lot right next to my dorm and I can usually find a good parking right by the door.

3 College Freshman

Weather: The weather is never horrible, but it's usually very windy, which is annoying. Some days it's very nice out, but Indiana weather in general can never make up it's mind.

5 College Sophomore

Academics: The way the curriculum is set up allows students to focus on one class at a time instead of multiple. This makes it so much easier to stay focused and organized. The instructors are helpful, they truly want the students to succeed.

5 College Sophomore

Parking: I attended the West Chester, Ohio campus and evening classes , so parking was never an issue. There was at least two rows dedicated to handicap and the rest was for anyone. I never had to park far away.

5 College Junior

Majors: I have been very satisfied thus far with my education. I was estatic to know that they offered an Rn to BSN program. And the best part it is all online. Even my books are delivered to my door two weeks before the course begins.

2 College Junior

Scholarships: I did receive financial aide, but to my knowledge there are not any scholarships offered.

4 College Junior

Local Area: Florence is a big town with a local mall, water park, YMCA, and several wooded parks as well. Florence is centrally located and only about 20 minuted from downtown Cincinnati.

2 College Sophomore

Diversity: IWU is white and conservative. Some people look for that, and it's a good fit for them. The school is trying to incorporate more awareness, but it's generally met with apathy. The students themselves are open and generally not closeminded, though. People are pretty welcoming.

2 College Sophomore

Parking: Parking can be really rough; a lot of times, there are upperclassmen parking spaces open, but underclassmen have to park super far away from buildings. Sometimes tickets are handed out without any (seeming) rhyme or reason. Permit costs are reasonable, but usually unless you want a car or need it for a job, you'll be fine. It's about fifteen minutes to walk from one end of campus to the other.

3 College Sophomore

Technology: The Computers at our school are very good. We have many Mac Labs. Windows as well as Apple Computers work well with the campus. We have many printing options in the Mac Labs. The speed and network capability are pretty good. Every once in a while there will be a glitch in the system just like any other place. You probably need your own computer. You don't really need a personal printer because you are given credits and can use them in the Mac Labs or in the Library.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: I'm in the Art Building a lot. The great thing about being an art major is that they just added another building to for art majors. We share it with the math which is fine. But we are able to use both buildings for studio hours which is very convenient. The workload can be quite a bit because we mostly have projects due every other day for each class. The faculty are willing to help you out if you need it and are always encouraging you. They also always say if you want to grab coffee or just talk they are always there for you. When it comes to job opportunities/internships they always help you to find something and are willing to give their input and recommendation.
