Local Area: People make fun of Marion and say there isn't much to do, but you can always go to Wal-Mart or Meijer and that can actually be fun if you do things with your friends like the $5 game. There is also a friendly Starbucks and a fun fro-yo place called JuJuBerry that are very welcoming of college students to come drink coffee/eat yogurt and study there. There are also tons of local churches which are very welcoming and love to have students get involved.

Off-Campus Housing: There are few housing so it is hard to get something till like your junior year.

Local Area: It is very friendly. There is lots to do on campus. It is a very safe town. The shopping is descent and close to the big city.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: They help out so much and they do a great job working with students.

4 College Junior

Majors: I really like being in this program. I'm learning a lot and the teachers are well train and care about the students, again this school is the school for me. I love the way thay set up the currculum helps with the learning process

5 College Junior

Technology: Network feed is super fast, and I am able to connect quickly using my own portable devices.

4 College Freshman

Academics: I love TESOL Education's community and professors!

5 College Senior

Academics: This is a great school. The options of courses and schedule is great for my workload

4 College Senior

Academics: This is a great school. The program is a bit tricky and unorganized, but everything else if great. Career counseling and placement is not that good

5 College Freshman

Party Scene: Very conservative college. This is why I am going here instead of Ball State/Party College.

Weather: Campus is small enough that you can get to anywhere during any weather.
Very nice student center is located in the middle of campus so students use it as a walk through.

Academics: I have had fantastic experiences in nearly all my classes thus far.
Being that IWU does not have a high ratio of commuting students, professors frequently encourage their students to visit teachers' offices and ask questions.
Most professors are incredibly passionate about building relationships with their students. They want to be involved in the students' lives in and outside of class. Many will even offer to have coffee or a meal with you just to get to know you better.
TAKE ADVANTAGE of building relationships with your professors! It makes all classes much more enjoyable if you get to know your professor on an individual-level.

Diversity: There are all sorts of outward diversities at IWU, but this alone constitutes an extremely small percentage of the student body. I think the real diversity comes from each student's personality and beliefs, which definitely differs largely from student to student. Every student has a seemingly different upbringing, constituting to a hugely diverse population.

Weather: The whether does not affect the campus experience at IWU, which I think is a great thing despite the fact that everybody wishes classes would be cancelled every now and then. Some classes are harder to walk to than others, but it is not the universities fault that weather in the midwest is tough and grueling in the winter. Because of this, IWU does a great job of making sure to continue on just as normal.

4 College Freshman

Campus Quality: I think IWU's atmosphere and community is what helps it stand out among other schools. Most schools' atmosphere kind of force its students early on to find a close group of few friends and stick with it. IWU, on the other hand, feels like a close knit group of students who are all striving to better each other and themselves through Christ. It's hard to not feel like you belong to a community when you will always see somebody you enjoy at McConn Coffee Co, attend chapel as a student body and Christ's body, and hang out in the dorm lobbies.

1 College Freshman

Scholarships: Outside of the academic scholarship available, all of the scholarships requirements are intended for diversity outside of my control. In other words, I am not African American or Hispanic, I do not have parents that are alumni, I am not a Nursing major or a Education major, I am not a transfer student, and there is no Weselyan church relatively close to my home that I regularly attend. Although it is great that my school awards these diversities, I need financial aid just as badly, and find it largely inconvenient that I do not have more control over the requirements.

4 College Freshman

Majors: Excellent programs and I feel I am being trained well for my future career and life in general.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I love the community and friendships. the dorms are fun and they provide a good learning environment as well as fun activities. We do have group things that encourage getting to know people. We also have meals together at times with our unit. The dorms have a great lounge where people can hang out and then there are places for quiet study also. Great place to be a student.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: I received some grants and scholarships. They were great about honoring my academic work and my Church involvement as well.

Guys & Girls: A great mix of people. Diverse in interests and looks. You are able to find a niche here as it is a great University. The best part is that the Christian atmosphere is just what I need to continue my life calling. I have met great people as a Freshman and am forming lifelong friendships.

Athletics: They are a big part of our school spirit and unity on and off campus. IWU is a family and the sports are a big part of that.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There are options, but not enough to really have a great selection. Pricing is comnparable to other places. However, best mexican restaurant around!

3 College Junior

Technology: The Jackson Library on campus has a decent sized computer lab which is used quite frequently by students. Different building around campus also have computer labs which are more often used by students whose major focuses in that building. Some dorms also have a lab with a couple computers. The IT service is helpful... as long as you have a Mac. They don't do hardware fixes on PC computers, which was very frustrating when my PC began giving me trouble mid-semester. The WiFi has recently sped up considerably and is more reliable, and it is available in every building on campus with the exception of a few dorms (in the rooms).

3 College Junior

Scholarships: I receive a significant amount of financial aid from IWU and other scholarships. They send out an email once or twice a semester reminding you of your requirements for maintaining your aid/scholarships (such as GPA, enrollment status, etc.). The only frustration I've had is when trying to find out about changes to my aid. Sometimes I've had to go to the financial aid office to get help, other times they can't help me there and I have to call my adviser specifically. It's just a little frustrating to try and navigate the different channels of communication based on a specific question.

Weather: The weather is very finicky in the Mid-West. One day it will be sunny and 65 degrees and the next it will be snowing. Classes never get cancelled for the weather but the academic buildings are close to most dorms.
