Administration: When I was at school they had two rules that have just been overturned. No "R" rated movies and no "M" rated video games.

Each dorm only had three visit days (when members of the opposite sex can come to the dorm room) per week. And very limited hours. You also had to keep a light on when they were up there and keep the door opened. RA's were expected to walk around make sure nothing was going on every night. It was a lot like babysitting (I was an RA two years).

If a girl gets knocked up she will get kicked out of the school but the guy will only get disciplined.

It's a backwards place.

Parking: I lived in the brand new building that had a parking lot very close to the dorm. Unfortunately it was very poorly ran. Underclassmen (half the residents of the building) had to park across the street, it doesn't sound like far, but in the freezing winter it really sucked.
The main parking lot was huge, but we were only allowed to use four or five of the rows, which stretched almost to the underclassman parking lot. The remaining 70% of the parking lot was reserved for staff, faculty, and commuters (only account for like 15% of the student body) Never enough to fill it up.

Weather: I'm from the Northeast, so coming to Indiana was pretty awful. It's very hot in the summer and first few months of fall, and humid. Then in the winter the campus turns into a huge wind tunnel and the weather is very cold and the wind chill is freezing. Not a lot of snow but a decent amount of ice.

Diversity: IWU is almost entirely a white, republican, evangelic christian community. I only knew of 10 or so African-American students on campus during my three years there, and I think that says something if people are keeping track. There was a hate crime there my senior year that the administration made a big deal about (and rightfully so).

Almost every person you talk to comes from a typical christian family and at least 25% of students are preacher's kids.

Campus Food: Lots of dining areas, including buffet, and take out meals. Pizza, Chinese, burgers, Chick-Fil-A, and a sub line are all included on the dining plan.

Health & Safety: Safety on campus is good, but the surrounding area is extremely bad. We've had multiple cases of girls being raped while living right off campus

Guys & Girls: The guys and girls on campus are always very modest and take pleasure in making sure that they respect each other at all times.

Diversity: The diversity on campus is incredible, probably one of the best International Student programs I have ever experienced.

Off-Campus Housing: You don't want to live off campus in Marion, IN. Although, Indiana Wesleyan is one of the safest campuses in the United States, Marion is not a safe city.

Weather: If you move to the Midwest you should expect the weather that comes with it. Do not expect sunshiny days after September, it starts to get cold very quickly.

Drug Safety: We do have an honor policy against drug and alcohol use, as well as other things, but there have been only rumors of drinking and drug use by students (isolated rumors at that).

Party Scene: The campus can provide entertainment that brings in the community around us, but options outside of campus are almost nonexistent. The 'IWU Bubble' is still in effect since there is nothing to do outside of campus.

Diversity: Seeing as how this is a Christian university, acceptance of people with different backgrounds is fairly average as a whole and terrible on a case by case standpoint. Topics may be brought up among class discussions, but any other time is done with ridicule or rude comments.

Health & Safety: Overall the campus is a safe place to be, but some of the activities that some groups of students do on campus have me a little worried. Campus golf is not a safe activity, especially since it's impromptu. There have been several times that people have been hit with the tennis balls they use.

2 College Freshman

Party Scene: There isn't much to do over here since the campus is located in a small town.

Greek Life: We don't have a Greek life.

Majors: Enrollment in the Business Mgmt. program was easy. ALL credits from previous schools transferred. CLEP testing allowed me to obtain 6 credit hours and saved me money! Admission is straightforward and has been streamlined significantly.

Majors: Wonderful accelerated adult learning program. Online options are available. Professors have world experience in their fields and take a sincere interest in students. Enrollment process was easy, advisors were excellent, financial assistance was an easy process. I would definitely do it again. IWU now offers the Masters program I want to pursue next and this is where I plan to return!

Transportation: There are no chances for transportation at any place on campus.

Campus Food: There are many options at the dining room, but I must say that the dining room is not open long enough to accommodate all of the students.

Majors: The instructors work in the field and give you projects that you will use in real life

Technology: excellent good computers and computer friendly. There is plenty of computers for everyone to use.
