2 College Freshman

Greek Life: There isn't any specific "Greek Life" to speak of. We have service fraternities and things like that, but not traditional frats and sororities

3 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: I'm married so I don't go out to look for people. However, mostly everyone is very young and chatty when they want to be. Everyone has different interests, or different lives, so if they hook up, it isn't on campus.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I have a problem when I ask my adviser a simple question and she hasn't got a clue. But I really have a problem with this place being so small that you can't always fit the minor you need into your schedule because of the times they offer classes.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Seriously, this isn't ever a student's first choice, but you get a degree from Indiana University. It was my cheapest option in the range I can commute to with my car. If you are trying to get into the medical school for anything, you need to know that competition is fierce and they only accept a hand full of students each year to start the program, so you have to have top grades.

3 College Freshman

Administration: Really, if you attend class, and follow basic rules, it isn't a problem.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: If there are any minor changes to your status, like marriage, they get weird and make you jump through more hoops than you should really need to. And if you talk to a secretary they are kind of stupid about the whole process.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Just costly the closer to campus and an unsafe neighborhood

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Enjoy the restaurants around here!

2 College Freshman

Party Scene: Personally I don't party but I have heard some inappropriate stories especially from our building. I attend this campus because they said it was dry however it is not true. It extremely loud in my complex with immature students who vandalize property.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: I personally don't eat campus food because it's expensive. I have to buy my own food on campus because meal plans are not provided which should be.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: The rules are great however when my room complains about

Noise Levels As well as the behavior in our complex it is not solved. There's lots of partying when it should be a dry campus. Also there should be better security such as cameras in the buildings or outside. The apartments themselves are In good condition. Everything is kept clean!

2 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: It's really bad for college students if they're intending to live with friends and/or on their own. The places that college kids could afford are some of the absolute worst places in town. They're in crappy neighborhoods with bad crime rates. The safe, nice places to live are pricey as heck and are hard to get into.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: It's not bad food around here. It's just mainly your typical fast food places and chain restaurants that everyone knows about.

3 College Freshman

Administration: I don't know too much about it still. I just transferred this semester, but they seem to be like a decent school when it comes to the strictness of the administration.

Scholarships: They take awhile to answer emails and to tell me what paperwork and things I need to do because I transferred from another college.

College Freshman

Party Scene: I don't go to parties on campus or to parties in general. I work part-time and go to school full-time. I don't have time to party.

College Freshman

Campus Food: I don't eat at campus. I always bring food with me and because I don't live on campus I don't have a meal plan.

2 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I don't live on campus due to the fact that I live so close to school, it's cheaper to live at home. However, I have a friend that lives in the campus housing and at night it's dangerous to walk around because she says several students have been sexually harassed .

3 College Freshman

Local Area: Mostly, it's a medium Midwestern town, and it has it's up and downs. Culture, there isn't much to speak of. If you aren't from around here, don't go to this school, it's kind of pointless.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: You can always find off campus housing around here, but you have to understand that you aren't living with a bunch of college students in the apartments, and most people have families and jobs. So, respecting your neighbors is kind of important.

2 College Freshman

Campus Food: Everything closes at 2 p.m. except for the coffee place in the education and arts building, and the sub connection in the SAC. If you have classes all day, pack a lunch, and don't get the meal plan, unless you drink a lot of coffee.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: As with any school, you have good and bad professors and adjuncts. I haven't had one that I absolutely hate. I however do find that certain courses, while fine for incoming freshman to complete along with their English course, as a transfer student who has passed a freshman English course, a class on how to cite my sources seems a bit wasteful of my time and student aid.

College Freshman

Party Scene: We don't have a party scene to speak of. There isn't much to do. Most people party elsewhere, if they party at all.

College Freshman

Athletics: IUSB, being a satellite school, does have a sports team, but honestly it isn't a top priority with anyone. You wouldn't know we had a sports team except for random blurbs on the campus e-news letter

3 College Freshman

Campus Quality: IUSB is very small, but it has a few perks when it comes to finding a study nook or two. Personally, the Education and Arts building is my favorite place to study because of the giant glass wall in the front of the building. The chairs are comfortable, and there is easy access to the much needed caffeine.
