3 College Senior

Overall Experience: It's a decently sized school to go and get the generals out of the way

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: They have got me ready for when I am ready to transfer to Illinois State in the Fall.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: No place so close can take you so far! Smaller school but plenty of people are around to help you if you need it. Counseling is helpful, ASK QUESTIONS! Plenty of useful facilities for you to get your school work done. Your teachers want you to succeed. If there are barriers to your learning, tell them. There are also helpful disability services.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: It's a quaint community college. Not a bad experience to have. It's cheaper than a four-year and very good for transfers.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Very friendly teachers and a great community based school.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: We have a library, student center along with everything a college ought to have. It is a small college though so the quality isn't the highest. But it is perfectly acceptable.

Tuition & Financial Aid: My financial aid is paying for all of my tuition this semester. I have to pay for most of my books, which are quite expensive. This school has a very strict policy about rental books, if they are late, you have to pay for the full price of a brand new book, even though you rented a used book.

3 College Junior

Career Services: Since my school is a junior college, it doesn't give everyone enough of an education to go and seek the job they want. Transfering to a 4 year college is the best way to get a good job.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: My school offers me everything I need in order to graduate with my associates of sciences degree. The counselors are very helpful, and constantly check to make sure that all my credits will transfer. I am taking 17 credit hours and my wonderful counselors have given me the perfect schedule, so that my workload can be manageable.

Academic Experience: Signing up for my school was a price of cake. The counselors are well educated in what us student s need to do in order to reach our individual majors. The professors are all kind but stern. They want you to learn the material they are teaching. In order to decrease workload, a curriculum is given out at the beginning of each semester.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: The only reason I would not consider choosing this school again is the commute is 45 minutes a each way for me and it gets long, lonesome, and uses a lot of gas money.

3 College Senior

Student Body: I feel students still are judging people for being different than them and have their cliques that they will only stick with. There is not a wide variety of people reaching out to others.

5 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: I have had a great experience at IVCC. During my first year I dealt with a lot of anxiety issues and my teachers and counselors were very helpful with helping me be successful as I went through this period in my life.

4 College Senior

Campus Resources: All resource centers the faculty is very helpful and nice and everything is pretty up to date. The athletic gym is great, the locker rooms could use some updates along with the fitness center. People do not hardly participate in campus activities which is kind of upsetting.

1 College Senior

Campus Resources: The worst and most frustrating part of IVCC is the wifi and never being able to get it anywhere you go in there.

3 College Senior

Campus Quality: I feel like IVCC is a second high school and students are still not comfortable with branching out. People are still in their group of friends and do not like to associate with anyone else. I feel taking anatomy here was the best decision I had as far as making new friends and being able to communicate and study with a wide variety of people.

3 College Senior

Online Courses: I do not like online courses very much because of the emailing back and forth it is hard to have good communication or questions answered by the professor. I do not feel like I learn as much because it is strictly reading for the most part and I am more of a hands on learner.

5 College Senior

Academic Experience: I have had a great experience with my anatomy class and the teachers that go along with it. They are all very helpful, fun, and I have never learned so great.

5 College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: I had a lot of help with filling out FAFSA and getting financial help to pursue my goals at Illinois Valley Community College. The financial aid offices are very helpful and for the most part I think the students in need are getting help.

3 College Freshman

Online Courses: Online classes are alright- it's another pick of the draw- you just need to get a good group of students and a good teacher

3 College Freshman

Academic Experience: All my professors have been really great with communication and helping my classroom experience. While I could be challenged more, and I wish there was a bit more variety, I really like the way the professors go the extra mile for the students.

4 College Freshman

Tuition & Financial Aid: I've never really had an issue with the tuition, and I haven't applied for financial aid here.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: To be honest, as an early high school graduate, I didn't have much of a choice. I was planning to transfer in the fall, and this is the only college we have in the area.

4 College Freshman

Academic Flexibility: They're really good about working around a schedule. Since a majority of the students are working full time, IVCC is wonderful about planning things ahead.

2 College Freshman

Career Services: I haven't really heard or spoken to counselors, mostly my teachers.
