Party Scene: The parties are what any other parties at a college town would be like. The best parties are usually hosted by college students of course as I do go to a college within a college town. The party scene is unique in a sense that I rarely ever see any hostilities or disputes.

Administration: They do what they have to do. The strictness is there to incorporate a better learning environment and that's it.

Campus Food: Dining option was narrowed down to the Depot, the J, and the Giant's Cupboard. Considering that the Depot was pricey yet delicious in terms of the food they offered, it was well worth its cost. The J is more cheaper yet brings back the same menu ever so often. The Giant's Cupboard was my go to instant food paradise as it was stocked with a surplus amount of junk food. I would have to blame the Cupboard as the main culprit for bad eating yet providing the best convenient method of food for many situation.

Scholarships: The financial aid was weird as I only received partial amount of my scholarship until the rest was fully granted few months into my first semester at Humboldt State University. I never really had much of a problem in terms of filling out the FAFSA form as everything they ask for was direct and clear. However, I struggled with creating my parents a PIN but that was only due to different language miscommunication (I speak English; my parents speak Korean).

Campus Housing: Living on campus was an experience that I had to experience and I did. I was able to experience many convenience thanks to living on campus rather than off campus as things such as convenience stores or dining services were close. Atmosphere-wise, the dorms were rather quiet yet enjoyable because so. The peace and convenience had a hefty price however as I lived in a single dorm (despite requesting for a double/triple/suite) and privacy is a premium perk.

Party Scene: Parties here are easy going. Not too much drama and people usually have a lot of fun.

Off-Campus Dining: I love most of the places to eat off campus. Great variety.

Campus Food: I really like the food here but I would have liked more variety in the J menu

Campus Housing: I lived in the nicer campus apartments but the other living areas on campus were not as good. At least in my opinion.

Off-Campus Housing: Lets start off with finding a house and being able to secure it is the hardest part. Everyone is trying to find ahouse at the same time, and it is hard to secure a place. I feel that it is worth to find a place off campus because it is cheaper and it is more fun to have a place with friends.

Party Scene: There were many parties off campus, but the thing is that the would be shut down pretty quick, or there would be way too many people and wouldnt be that fun.

Off-Campus Dining: My friends and I Didnt really eat out that much, but when we did, we had many places to choose from that were reasonable price, and always was pretty good food.

Administration: Administration was very good, they had strict rules and when they were violated, they took wuick action and did what benefited both parties, especially when it came to alcohol and drugs.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: I didnt have much trouble, the school called me and helped me to figure out how much money I should take from lowans which really helped out. This allowed me to take a few thousand dollars of loans out of financial aid, because i didnt need the money.

Campus Food: The food at the beginning of the semester from the J was good, but after a while it seemed to get worse, so the best option would be to eat at the Depot, but despite the food being good, it got too repetative and it came down to switchin off between the two.

Campus Housing: Housing was really nice, had a great roomate and the CA's of my dorm were really nice and enforced the rules at the same time. They had activities that helped the communuty of the dorm get to know eachother which was nice, because I felt that i knew most of the people there.

Off-Campus Dining: I go to a school in a very small city, and there are some things (like in-n-out, Starbucks and Chipotle) that college students usually crave, and there isn’t an in-n-out or Chipotle restaurants anywhere near where our college is located, and the nearest Starbucks is one that you have to drive to. There are a decent number of options as far as different kinds of food, and most of them are good, but also very “Americanized.” There are many small family owned restaurants and boutiques that are usually pretty good, but also a little pricey.

Party Scene: I have been to many parties throughout the year, but sometimes they are definitely hard to find because many end up getting rolled by police. You also have to walk pretty far away from campus because there isn’t much else for campus security to do besides roll college parties.

4 College Freshman

Administration: The campus police are around enough to make you feel comfortable, and are always very friendly, but will give out warnings and punishments to people that are doing wrong.

Scholarships: I got a good amount of financial aid from the school and it wasn’t that hard of a process.

Campus Food: Overall, campus food is pretty good. There are some things that you have to learn to avoid, but for the most part, there is a decent variety of foods and places to eat.

Campus Housing: Living in Redwood dorms is pretty great. There are plenty of extremely friendly people, everyone is open so you make really great friends with your neighbors, the CA’s are very kind and helpful, and everything is kept clean in our halls, main areas, and bathrooms. Our rooms are also much bigger than I had originally anticipated and much more spacious than I had initially thought. The dorms are also very close to many of the classes that I have taken this semester and are very close to several of our campuses dining locations, and to the forest as well, which is a great place for walks, jogs, hikes, or bike rides and to get exercise without really even realizing it. Everything on campus is also within a fifteen minute walking distance, which is extremely convenient, you just have to be prepared to face the inevitable hills and stairs.
