4 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: For a guy, it can be a jackpot as the school is predominately female. I interact with more girls than guys (with the reasoning of the gender ratio on campus). I would consider many (I think all) students are attractive on campus. Many different interests and dress styles throughout the year keeps the social buzz going.

Guys & Girls: Hood College was a women's college up until about 12 years ago so there is great tradition and ceremony with years of legacy discussion among faculty and staff. With admitting men, it has taken on a new sense of tradition and now allows for new traditions to start and everyone is into building these memories.

Guys & Girls: They're okay. I don't pay much attention to them since I don't spend time in school other than when I'm in class.

5 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: This school,is awesome and has a high school and small town like feel with rigorous and fun college level class we have wonderful food and a million ways on and off campus to have fun while still staying focused on the rigors of a busy college schedule with about five classes

3 College Junior

Guys & Girls: Considering the fact Hood College is predominantly a female school, the ratio is probably 4:1 in regards to men meeting women. Hood has a big gay community and is supported in many ways from student organizations to students themselves. I have a girlfriend who attends Hood as well so we stand out with the students who are "talking" and the students who are really in relationships. As far as races, many of the students keep to themselves while the minority students hang out and try to mingle with others.

Despite having a very small population, Hood College has a very diverse-looking group of students. However, this small size also leads to the cultivation of similar social groups that were present in high school: jocks, preps, computer geeks, brains, art kids, and nerds (just to name a few). These groups are not exclusive, though; they are usually accepting of others, show tolerance, and do not really care about what others look like.

Because Hood was formerly a female institution, women heavily outweigh the men on campus (about 65 percent to 35 percent). The average female at Hood is Caucasian, and either wears hoodies and jeans or is head to toe in American Eagle. However, the average Hood girl is not a slacker; in fact, most are very hardworking, determined, and used to doing well in school. Typically, these women are already in a relationship, which leaves many men at Hood disappointed. The average male at Hood is also Caucasian and usually fairly athletic. Just like the women, the men tend to wear either hoodies with jeans or brand names all over. However, the biggest difference between men and women at Hood is that the males are usually single, ready to have a good time, and looking for casual hookups. Thus, they are disappointed when they find out that most females are already taken and that few people "hook up" because Hood is such a small school. Overall, most people at Hood want a relationship and don't want to be known for casually hooking up with many people.

Social Scene
Hood is a small, close-knit college where everyone knows everyone. The students at Hood are much like a family; they support each other, have fun together, and always accept one another. Usually, Hood is a quiet campus without too many rowdy parties. Despite a lack of partying, students are always interacting and building long-lasting relationships with each other through college-sponsored events, classes, and extracurricular activities.
Hookups or Relationships?
In the past, Hood College was a female-only institution; only recently were men allowed to live on campus. Considering this, Hood still has a high female population. There are a few hookups, but mostly long-term relationships exist. Because Hood is such a small school, those who choose to hook up frequently get talked about and are usually not thought of in a good way. Most people that are single at this school are looking for a serious, long-term relationship that will last longer than the college years.
Dress Code
Similar to other colleges, Hood has no dress code. In classes, most students wear jeans and a T-shirt, Hood athletic apparel, or sweats. However, there are some students (usually only females) who like to dress up in a more professional style when going to class. To parties, female students tend to wear tight-fitting, low-cut clothing and adorn makeup and freshly styled hair. Male students usually wear flashier shirts with dark-washed jeans.
