2 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: Classes are kind of on the high school level of thinking, come in at this time and sit for a few hours till the instructor tells you to leave.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: Courses are decent, some can be pretty hectic.

2 College Junior

Overall Experience: For what it's worth you get what you pay for, just don't expect to have job offers once you graduate.

3 College Junior

Online Courses: Online courses are a breeze.

2 College Junior

Student Body: The student body is kind of ok. The only thing wrong with it, and it's a pretty major problem, is the campus ministries. Over the last two semesters they've managed to completely oppress the LGBT club. If you're religious then Hocking is for you, if you're not then it's going to be rough.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The financial aid employees are never there. If you manage to talk to anyone from financial aid it's just going to be a big run around.

1 College Junior

Career Services: The heavy equipment job placement is nonexistent, instructors don't help graduates find jobs what so ever.

2 College Junior

Academic Experience: Being a Heavy equipment student it's safe to say that job offers aren't going to be appearing soon. What the instructors fail to tell students is that most places want at least 5 years experience for just entry level positions. The work load is a joke, it's a few hours of lecture about things we've done in the field. The curriculum is very bare bones. The facilities, as well as the equipment, are in very poor condition.

2 College Junior

Academic Experience: Class registration is a pain unless an instructor helps, and with the administration changing things every week it's to the point where the instructors aren't allowed to help students register.

2 College Junior

Campus Resources: To put it as blunt as possible, the programs aren't the best for finding a job in the real world. From personal experience I've seen many kids go into degrees that just have no job market what so ever. When it comes to dealing with staff, instructors or administration, be prepared to get hassled around. Instructors don't want to help students with anything and administration tends to be on an eight hour break 24/7. The student community is semi ok, but it's ruined by people who think college is all about partying. If you plan on living in Hocking Heights be prepared to witness drinking on campus and music turned up as loud as it can go until the early hours of the morning. All in all it's probably a good idea to look elsewhere for higher education, unless you really like running back and forth.

Academic Experience: The curriculum is well put together and touches on most aspects of the the desired degree. All the classes Hocking has to offer are very hands on and provides the necessary experience needed in the field of study.

Campus Resources: The student center is a great place to go if you want to make friends, be active, and social. The library provides plenty of resources to help with everything school related and non school related. The administration seems to get better and better with each year.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I defiantly receive what I pay for, but in general Hocking is in debt. The financial aid process is simple and the employees are friendly.

4 College Junior

Career Services: A lot of Hocking alumni support the academics and student affairs here. There have also been instances of alumni helping out in the field labs to give another prospective of how the industry operates.

5 College Junior

Academic Experience: Forest Management is very hands on and includes a lot of in field experience.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: The instructors really want to help you and watch you succeed if you have the attitude and passion to learn. The curriculum is reasonable with respect to your desired technology and the workload typically has to deal with what you are learning and the modern processes of your profession.

Campus Resources: Student Activities, Library, Student Center

Tuition & Financial Aid: No one wants to help you with financial aid. You can be struggling and all they care about is if they are going to get their money. I struggled to pay for this past semester and didn't get hardly any financial aid and all they could say was, "get a loan".

3 College Senior

Career Services: It is okay. Could be a lot better, but I guess you get what you pay for. Unfortunately a lot of people can't afford to go any where else as they can barely pay to go here.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: The teachers work hard to make sure you understand. There's a lot of hands on. Very little book work for the Music program. Your doing everything as you learn.
