College Senior

Online Courses: I haven't really taken any online classes so this doesn't really apply to me, therefor I can't rate it.

Tuition & Financial Aid: No one wants to help you with financial aid. You can be struggling and all they care about is if they are going to get their money. I struggled to pay for this past semester and didn't get hardly any financial aid and all they could say was, "get a loan".

Career Services: It is okay. Could be a lot better, but I guess you get what you pay for. Unfortunately a lot of people can't afford to go any where else as they can barely pay to go here.

Overall Experience: The teachers work hard to make sure you understand. There's a lot of hands on. Very little book work for the Music program. Your doing everything as you learn.

Campus Resources: i never thought of exercise as a fun thing but then i was convinced to join the yoga club and we get yoga instructors, its so amazing. The school library is great cause it stays open until late, so i get the chance to study and have access to it for a good duration.

Student Body: my school is rich in diversity. my first day in school, you'd think i'd feel lonely and left out but that wasn't it. i was suprised to find more international students from different parts of the world including countries i've always wanted to visit like China and Jamaica. It was fun and still is. A diversity club was just the place i ought to be. i get to hang out with friends from all over the continents, learn from them and help tutor anyone too.

Career Services: i am still an undergraduate and do not have much information on the graduate service but my brother is in the graduate service and he says its great and affordable too.

Tuition & Financial Aid: i am an international student, but the tuition is quite affordable for me and i am getting my money's worth. only that the tuition may be affordable but still a lot to cover. Unluckily, my school doesn't offer scholarships to international students.

Online Courses: Back in my home country, i never had the opportunity to use computer in class, but here i am am using it daily. At first, it was weird cause i didn't trust the computer knew what it was doing but then i got to understand it too. i can do my assignments at home in my own comfy zone. mathematics has always been my weak course but with the available study guides online, i know get the hang of it. I can have a video conversation with my professor too and she helps me solve questions i have difficulty while seeing it done physically..especially during the weekends when i do my assignments, i can always video chat with her too. I am very poor with names, but due to the group sessions online, i got to know my fellow classmates too. i love my online course.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I did most of my financial aid online before coming to school. A lot of people have questions and come in for financial aid the first few days, so I recommend doing it as quickly as possible so you don't end up in a large line waiting. Financial aid can be a difficult process when it comes to getting the required paperwork, but this is no fault of the administration. They will help you to the best of their ability and answer every question they can, as well as walk you through the process. They've directed me to the correct offices when I wasn't sure where to go or what exactly to do my first days, and have answered things such as when checks arrive, how to get direct deposit, ext.

Online Courses: I have not yet taken an online course at Hocking.

Academic Experience: I am insanely excited about the Music Program at Hocking. We get hands on equipment to record and mix music in the recording studio, which is available to us at any time. Instead of simply learning about the subjects we get to see them in action and use the skills we gain. There's radio classes and shows that we have the opportunity to be a part of and execute our knowledge in, and learn more things. In the future we will be taking trips to studios! It's fantastic. All the teachers have connections in the Music Industry and want us to succeed!

Academic Experience: Hocking offers Massage Therapy, Wildlife Management, Equine Studies, Interactive Multimedia, Business, Law, Early Education, Culinary and medical degrees. I was astounded to see such a wide variety for a College with such a seemingly small campus. Registering for classes took less than an hour after orientation. I'm starting out with 16 credit hours so homework has been pretty steady but since I was able to get a three day weekend worked out in my schedule I've been able to balance it and maintain A's in all of my classes. The teachers are very willing to help and I know in Music Management specifically there are many special study opportunities to place on your resume.

Career Services: I am a Freshman Student and haven't really engaged in the career center or alumni network.

4 College Junior

Student Body: The student body is generally friendly and made up of all sorts of people. The students in the Music Program are especially passionate about what they love and very eager to learn all they can from the teachers and to work with the students. It's very encouraging.

5 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: Scott Winland (the Music Director) went way out of his way to make my schedule comfortable and fit in the classes I needed. The administration worked hard not only to rearrange and add/drop classes for me but many, many other students who had to make changes due to conflicts. Everyone was understanding and no one pointed fingers. It was a very smooth process.

5 College Junior

Campus Resources: I love how the track overlaps the gym in the Student Center and I'm very excited to explore the campus. It's small, welcoming and the forest surrounding Hocking is simply beautiful. I love Hocking College!

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: I have made a lot of friends, and had a lot of fun. I kept my GPA high as well while attending and working.
