3 College Freshman

Campus Food: With only one main dining hall on campus, it is easy for most to get sick of the food quickly. I personally found being able to eat as much as you want good enough. The cafe has better food (Mexican, sandwich and a grill), but it is overpriced. The Pub is the closest one will get to actual restaurant food. It is delicious, but again, ridiculously priced.

Campus Housing: Not the best, not the worst. There is something for everyone. The freshman housing, for the most part, is average. Not very new, not very clean, but nothing any worse than my friends at others schools. After that, the housing is either much bigger or much nicer. It gets better as the years go on.

Campus Food: There could be more food options, but everything is good.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: The campus is nice and clean.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I haven't ever looked into off campus housing but the few apartments that I have seen look very cute and nice.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Local restaurants in town give discounts to the students all the time. They deliver fast and easy and its generally pretty cheap.

Administration: It is almost scary how easy it is to get away with things on campus. Living in the campus dorms there have been numerous times that students have gotten back drunk and in danger from their drinking. Oddly enough they are very strict on clubs and protest for social issues.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: The financial aid people are amazing. They helped out every step of the way and made sure that I got all the help I needed so I could go to school.

4 College Freshman

Campus Food: The staff that work at Saga are amazing. They are kind people that generally care about the students. The food is pretty decent for school food and they try to understand certain allergies so everyone can find something good to eat.

Campus Housing: It's an average freshmen college housing complex. You can choose if you want to live co ed housing or not which is nice and they also allow students to take a roommate matching quiz. The quiz would be nice...if it actually worked for everyone. For example, my roommate and I are completely different people and have all together stopped talking to each other. The social atmosphere is also not perfect for all. The dorm I live in now, if you don't drink then there really is nothing to do and you don't really connect with anyone. However, next year I am moving into a substance free honor house which should be significantly better. The substance free honor house is apart of the "themed housing" on campus that allow students to apply to be apart of the house.

Health & Safety: 1. My roommate had her laptop stolen off her desk in the library after getting up for about 10 minutes

2. Sexual assault is a huge issue. Within the first 2 weeks of my freshman year I knew (or knew of) about 5 different girls who were victims of sexual assault. Some came forward, some didn't. Some were believed, some weren't.

Greek Life: There aren't any sororities, but the frats are viewed by non-Greeks as very- to put it delicately- douchey.

2 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Not a lot of options.

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: If you're into preppy types, welcome to paradise. If you're not, then welcome to an awkward 4 years. The school is pretty cliquey so if you don't know someone from your friend group, you probably will never talk to them. There definitely aren't a lot of couples, and the dating scene is more of a hookup scene. The students are pretty good looking, but many only seem attracted to WASP-y types.

Local Area: Geneva is a really small town. The locals are generally very kind and gracious (despite some of the students being quite elitist/ condescending towards "townies") but there isn't much to do. Downtown Geneva is a couple of blocks with a few decent restaurants and small stores. There's a small movie theater that only plays 5 wide releases at a time. Not a lot going on.

Party Scene: In a lot of schools you don't have to know a specific person to get into a party, you just show up with a couple of dollars for the door if anything. This is not the case at HWS. Granted the social scene is particularly bad this year following the NY Times article/ Title IX offenses, but my friends and I pretty much went to 3 parties all semester (and we tried to go out every weekend). If you don't know someone at the frats/ sports houses you're pretty much doomed to drinking in your room with a couple friends. The frats, even when you can get in, pretty much suck. They're stingy on beer, play bad music, and are all stereotypical "bro" types. The sports houses are easier to get into, but the parties are sloppy and never any fun. There are off campus parties but as an underclassmen it's hard to find them/ get in. Granted I'm not a huge going out person, but it's definitely strange for a sophomore to be able to count the number of fun nights she's had at college on one hand.

Campus Housing: I know that those who have lived in a coed Freshman dorm such as JPR or Sherill may disagree, but I've enjoyed campus housing so far. I've only lived in all-girls housing on the hill (Hirshon and Blackwell) and both have been good experiences. Nothing incredible, but they were both clean and quiet.

Academics: The academic environment suits me perfectly: rigorous, but not overly competitive. There are some colleges where programs are so intense that the atmosphere feels cutthroat, but at HWS the environment is more supportive. I've found that at HWS you get what you put into your studies. If you work hard, keep up with the readings, and participate then you will find the academic scene to be enriching and comprehensive.

Athletics: The sailing team definitely has the most beautiful sailing area and boat house than most other schools. The women's locker rooms are also awesome.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Merit and need based scholarships made a huge difference, but my amount of other grants and loans fluctuates and causes me to reapply often.

3 College Sophomore

Local Area: Small town with not much public transportation. What's good is that all the restaurants are local, not many/any chains, and they love when students come. Students provide much of the nightlife.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: There are only fraternities on campus, we don't have sororities.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: New offices and procedures were just enacted in order to help combat sexual assault on campus and provide support for victims.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Some nice apartments that are a little far off campus, and old houses that are way overpriced. As far as I know, the school does not provide help in finding housing

4 College Sophomore

Party Scene: I only say it's great because I have a number of friends who live in various frats and off campus parties, if not for that I wouldn't know of much to do.
