3 College Freshman

Academic Experience: It's very hard to try and achieve all of the credit requirements for certain degrees because a lot of the time the class is full, and if you're trying to only spend two years there, be prepared to not get any of the classes you needed, or wanted, the first year.

Overall Experience: The people and teachers are all very helpful and friendly, while the staff that has to do with financial id and registration are typically rude and dont know whats going on in the school, or have no idea who you need to ask. The classes are interesting overall, but can sometimes be difficult if you are not willing to put in the work.

Online Courses: I've taken one online course and I would never do it again in my life. The work load was heavy, but manageable, the work was very confusing and I had a lot of problems with it. The class was small so the discussions online were barely consider instructions. They class was so confusing half of the people dropped it, and the other half chose to go to the class room instead, which defeats the purpose of an online class.

Career Services: The career center has nice workers, but many are unhelpful. I've been at my community college for 3 years and have not had the kind of help I needed when it came to picking out classes and transferring credits to a university. Over the last two quarters I have been very disappointed with Highline and the way they go about 'helping' students.

Overall Experience: Ever single class I have taken, I have enjoyed. This is due to the professors that teach the class. They put a lot of thought and hard work to keep all the students interested and ignored. Class are small about 25 people in each class, so there is plenty of time to have one on one conversations with the professor.

Overall Experience: I feel like I have been on my own at highline figuring out my classes, and how to transfer. I've been to transfer centers, transfer fairs, and the advising office but nobody pointed me into the right direction to help me with my school. Being a first generation college student I have no help at home, and I feel like Highline let me slip through the cracks when it came to transferring .

Academic Experience: Communications is such a broad major, and you can really go anywhere with it. My professors have been wonderful and helpful with my major. I wish I would have known to not pick a major until I transfer to a university . Since I picked it early my credits are not transferring over as a DTA ( direct transfer agreement ) it would have been better to stay undecided. Other than that I really do love communications.

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: I have enjoyed every class I have taken at Highline. I've been lucky to have some great professors who really take the time to work one on one and make sure you understand the material. The college by itself could use a little work on communication to transfer students. I've wasted a lot of money taking the wrong classes that don't count as transfer credits to the university.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: I don't struggle to keep up since the workload isn't overwhelming. Some of the facilities are old but still functional while others are new and look amazing. The teachers in the courses answer any questions the students have.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: I haven't had any issues with the school and I've learned a lot so far. It's been a nice experience, I'll be here for another year and a half.

5 College Student

Online Courses: I thought the online courses are beneficial because the are more convenient in some cases.

5 College Student

Career Services: The career center was a great help to get information about the nursing program.

4 College Student

Overall Experience: Great except one professor who was discouraging.

5 College Student

Overall Experience: The value of a degree at this school is it can take you where you want to go in life.

5 College Student

Academic Experience: I feel like I am getting useful and accurate information and it is presented well.

4 College Student

Overall Experience: In my opinion, this school has helped me grow so much. The only complaint I would have is one of my professors was discouraging me the whole quarter and made me feel bad about myself. Other than that all my professors have benefited my learning and motivation.

3 Recent Alumnus

Academic Flexibility: For the most part it is very accommodating but some classes fall mid-day that I wish they offer in the AM or PM. Although there is always online

4 Recent Alumnus

Online Courses: I like online for its convenience, I am challenged by online courses because it is essentially me teaching myself. My professors have been great. The ones I have been lucky to have, have great communication and get back to students questions promptly. There is also a peer-to-peer posting board to allow us to be able to help one another.

2 Recent Alumnus

Career Services: Not so great, seems like a lot of credits do not pass over and there is a limitation on financial aid

4 Recent Alumnus

Overall Experience: Class size is average. I have done online, day, and night classes and the usually fill up pretty quickly 25+. I never felt unheard in a class, I felt like my piers and I made for a good classroom environment. Teaching styles vary, Workload varies as well. overall good

Overall Experience: I believe that highline is very big on networking. This school host a lot of free and paid events to get students involved with the college and with each other

3 Recent Alumnus

Academic Experience: For the particular majors/minors that they offer there will be a lot of other pursuing the same field classes and studying becomes so much easier when you have friends that are also going after the same things. The workload in my experience has been appropriate there has never been a time that I felt too overwhelmed. The professors tend to give you plenty of time to complete the task that they assign. Highline does provide a work study program and on campus jobs.

Overall Experience: I loved the diversity within this campus, and the professors are awesome. My biggest complaint is the guidance, I began here as a running start student and felt very lost although I would always touch base with the campus counselors. I would say when coming here come with a plan and when/if you do sit with the guidance counselors come with precise questions to ask to get to the desire answer you are hoping for. Highline does provide sheets to help guide you to your desired major. As in what classed you will be required to take but outside of that it is completely up to you. They also have this system called "degree audit" which I found very useful. The program shows you what classes you have left to take and alternatives you can select. It also inputs the credits you already have earned into the appropriate slots to show which criteria's have already been met. I would stay on top of that, communicate with your professors as much as you can and have a plan.

4 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: For me, I just base my classes around how quickly I can get through the day so that I have ample time to do homework, chores, and other things of similar tasks. Therefore, my class schedule is pretty good for my standards.

4 College Senior

Career Services: Highline loves hiring it's past students/alumni into their system if instances pop up because they love having old students on campus again. It shouldn't be too hard getting a job after graduation if you needed to.
