Online Courses: I only have one online course and it has been very easy to take so far

5 Recent Alumnus

Academic Flexibility: It has been very easy to check out how credits transfer and to get my classes and financial aid to work out the way they should

4 Recent Alumnus

Career Services: I easily got into the work-study program, and it was a simple task

Tuition & Financial Aid: The tuition is low and it gets me farther ahead to start out taking classes here rather than a 4 year university

Tuition & Financial Aid: The tuition at Highland is already very low and reasonable but I was still awarded both an academic scholarship and an athletic scholarship. Therefore, I only had to use a small part of a federal unsubsidized loan offered to me over this past summer.

Campus Resources: I can almost always find exactly what I'm looking for on campus. I really have not had any challenges yet.

Academic Flexibility: My experience at Highland Community College has been excellent so far! Every morning my classes start at either 9:00 or 9:30 and on Tuesdays and Thursdays I only have two classes. I have plenty of time to do all of my work while maintaining a job and running cross country. The tutors at Highland are almost always available for extra help. Transferring credits from high school was quick and easy and my schedule conveniently gives me time for homework, practice, student activities, work and the occasional home-cooked meal if desired.

Student Body: We are very ethnically diverse with an energetic and outgoing group of students. Most of the student body is involved in at least one sport or club and participates in student activities ranging from grocery bingo to mud volleyball and a 100ft slip-n-slide!

Campus Resources: Being at a satellite campus is difficult to judge the parent university. That being said, HCC Perry could use some athletic/fitness areas along with some campus activities to make students feel more connected.

Campus Resources: The wireless access is great with fast speeds and access all over. The worst part is having to pay $5 for a print card, while I understand the point of it I have barely used it so I will not see a return on the card once I have transferred.

Academic Experience: Doing general studies and core classes has been a breeze, the atmosphere of assistance at Highland is awesome.

Academic Experience: Working and going to school full time is a large task. Assignments are well thought out and drive the point of the in class learning. I do not feel overwhelmed or unchallenged, just right.

3 College Freshman

Career Services: My classes have been on path with the degree I am interested in.

5 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: Tuition is cheap, even for out of state students. The value of the education is also fairly good!

Campus Quality: The social scene is okay, almost like a large high school, campus life sometimes boring

4 College Junior

Online Courses: We still interact through discussion boards!

4 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: flexibility is okay for a community college. i am worried about transferring

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: We have great FREE resources such as the wellness center and student center along with all activities!

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: printing costs unless you are in SSS. Computer labs seem to be okay, but the connection in the dorms is terrible.

5 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: Tuition and financial Aid was amazingly simple. For summer and fall classes I paid out of pocket and was able to afford it all. I was able to pay online and the process was easy. The advisors take time and have patience to help students with financial help and provide all the information and resources they need. The classes are small so there is plenty of one-to-one interaction with the teachers, which, I attain more information from the class and makes me feel as if every cent is worth.
