Overall Experience: I particularly loved the small class sizes. Because of this, professors were very willing to help and are rarely busy during office hours.

Campus Housing: Loved living in York Hall, the quiet honors dorm. Hated Finch Hall freshman year because of distracting noise of people partying every night.

Greek Life: I don't know much about greek life besides their parties.

Athletics: As someone that used to play on the Men's Soccer team, the caliber of players (including myself) across the board for all HPU sports were very average. Not poor, but nothing extraordinary. Excellent athletic facilities though.

Overall Experience: Good school, just not the right fit for anyone that isn't a rich, white, ignorant trust fund child from Northeast US.

Health & Safety: High Point takes it's students' safely very seriously. You won't walk more than 2 minutes without seeing a security vehicle patrolling.

Campus Housing: All housing is very clean and there are options available for whatever suites your needs best. Parking is a bit of a hassle depending on where you live. There is plenty of parking, it just depends on how far it is from your building.

Greek Life: Greek Life has been very welcoming. Everyone has been very helpful during rush in trying to help me decide where I fit best. Hazing is absolutely un-tolerated and I've felt comfortable through the entire process.

Athletics: I am a competitive member of the Equestrian Club. Although the barn is not directly on campus it's very accessible, lessons are paid for in our club dues and so are transportation and hotel stays. Horses are wonderful and I feel like I have learned a lot.

Overall Experience: I absolutely love my school. They staff is friendly and kind. Always easy to find resources or help in any area. Campus is gorgeous and clean, as are the living accommodations. Food is great. Classes are manageable and professors are approachable; class sizes are small and all of my professors know my name. I'm very happy with my decision to attend High Point over other private schools in North Carolina!

Health & Safety: I really don't know much about the sexual assault policies on campus. I know the student body takes them seriously as well as the school itself. They had a showing of a movie called The Hunting Grounds to raise awareness of sexual assault on campus. Security is very quick to respond to you.

Overall Experience: Small class sizes for non-lecture classes, between 20-30 people. The teachers are very passionate and the school is very proud of that. Overall: extraordinary.

Overall Experience: We have a huge internship/ career center that will sit down and talk to you about your future and what they can do to help you find a job and what you can do to help that process.

Campus Housing: I love the housing on campus. All of the dorms are clean and up to date. The school takes pride in the dorms even in the lower tier housing the rooms are still excellent. I love being able to have a sink in my room, and the ability to live in a fully furnished suite.

Greek Life: I'm not Greek but my friends are. They love the sisterhood and community that Greek life brings. A lot of people are Greek on campus but they aren't separated from the rest of the schools community.

Athletics: Basketball is huge at High Point, but other than that sports aren't that big. A lot of people play sports and the gym is really nice but being an athlete doesn't make a person stand out. The basketball team however is very successful. We have the best three point shooter and slam dunker in the country and we are the best in our league. The school spirit is out of this world when it comes to basketball, and going to the games are so much fun.

Campus Housing: There are varying tiers of housing so if people are willing to spend even more money they can have more space, better dorms, or live by themselves. There is a heavy party scene, but if you choose to not be part of it you can find groups that do other things! The housing deposit is 750 dollars each spring so it's quite a bit of money to cough up following Christmas.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

Overall, the HPU experience is nothing less than “extraordinary." Most students are happy to be attending such a fantastic school and are actually sad to be going home at breaks. The campus has such a welcoming atmosphere that students feel that they are at home no matter how far they have to travel to get there. Students become so involved with friends, clubs, sports, and organizations on campus that leaving all of that to go home is sad for a lot of students. When it comes to preparing students for the future, High Point gives them every opportunity, and all they have to do is take it. High Point produces well-rounded students who are prepared to enter graduate school or the job market as soon as they graduate. With a focus on a real world experience in the University's education, students leave HPU with the competence to jump into the workforce. Through internships and hands-on classroom work, students can feel confident they have the skills to succeed.

High Point is different from so many other schools because it is a small school with large-school facilities. The University has the resources of big schools, but the friendly and caring atmosphere and personal attention of a smaller institution. Professors know students by name and take an interest with what they are doing in and out of the classroom. High Point values a student's whole education, not what is just limited to the classroom. The professors and administration work on molding students not just academically, but also instilling in them a sense of generosity, self-awareness, and kindness toward their environment and fellow man.
