Party Scene: BE CAREFUL DRINKING AT THIS SCHOOL. So many instances of rape and roofies have occurred here and administration doesn't do anything about it. Roofies are popular here because the boys are so wealthy they can afford anything to get themselves a sexual partner for the night. People are also super stuck up, so good luck making friends when you do go out.

I think it's awesome all parties are close together and are on campus, but that also limits things. Once you've been to one frat party, you've been to them all. That doesn't change the fact, however, that there's still something always going on during the weekends.

Athletics: There is no school spirit and no one pays attention to sports. The gym is so awkward to work in because the cafeteria and all other eateries share the same area as the gym without any walls to separate. Slane has a lot of traffic with kids going between classes and it's so awkward to not have ANY privacy while working my ass off.

Health & Safety: Currently transferring because the school allows for rapes and sexual assault. As long as the perpetrator has the money, he can do whatever he wants. I know a guy who has raped 3 girls already and he just paid administration off. THIS IS SO CORRUPT. There is an ongoing investigation of a homocide that occurred during hazing last year. But the suspect is the president's son, so everyone says he's getting away with it. Because of VIF's (very important families) girls are sexually assaulted very often as being a VIF prevents the wealthiest of kids from getting into any trouble. Rape is omnipresent here. No one takes it seriously and victim blaming is a serious issue here. This place is safe from outside danger but the danger within is unreal.

Off-Campus Dining: There are the typical places to eat in town.

Campus Housing: Compared to other campus...High Point has the best housing. But the community atmosphere...well in UC2 is not the best..people only talk to you if you look like them. You really have to search for friends that will accept you. It may take a awhile but once you find those friends...they will most likely be your friends for a lifetime.

Athletics: No one really comes to athletic events...at all. Unless it is men's basketball from what I have heard. And I am a cheerleader...

Administration: A student can really tell that administration really cares about the students. Since High Point is not the best school for diversity, partying, academics, all one other college things they make us fell extremely comfortable.

Local Area: We don't really go outside the gates of High Point.

Majors: If you are some type of business and commutations major. you are set. The university has many opportunities for studies interested in those fields...as for everyone else...you are going to have to work extremely hard to find internships without feeling like you have to compromise.

Party Scene: Usually, when you go to parties you can get alcohol, but at High Point you can't. You have to program before the party. By 6pm on Friday the campus is dead and everyone is KO'd by 9 or 10 because they pre gamed to hard. When once you get to the parties in Greek Village people are usually just standing on the sidewalk. When you walk in the parties--no one is dancing they are all on the patio. But Centennial's parties are better. The parties are over by 1 am.

Guys & Girls: If you have long hair with a tan and wear Lilly, Jack Rogers, or something along those lines...THEN YOU'RE SET...if you don't then...GOOD LUCK

Health & Safety: Since this campus is extremely homely the administration does at lot to protect the students. We have this thing called medical amnesty. It is sad to be used only once within your four years...but people sometimes use it once every month. The program is to help the student in need when they are "too turnt" and not get them in any type of trouble.

Off-Campus Housing: Many students at High Point stay in High Point owned housing because it is so nice. The university has a trolley services for the students on campus to go the places (owned by High Point) that are apart of the campus and vice versa every 20 minutes during the day and night.

Overall Experience: I love high point so far. I think they offer great opportunities for jobs, internships and the career center is very helpful to students. They want to help you find a decent job.

Off-Campus Housing: The off-campus housing seems really nice. They still have a community feel, are safe, have good places to eat and lots of parking.

Greek Life: I am not interested in Greek, but for those who are, it seems pretty nice.

Administration: I think the school is very good with regulating the policies I have faced so far, yet I do not know how they approach all of them since I have not been in those situations.

Scholarships: I went to the Presidential Scholarship Weekend and received an annual scholarship that will definitely benefit my experience.

Campus Housing: I love my dorm just as much as my room at home. I feel very comfortable, safe, clean and spacious. The amenities are more than expected and the social atmosphere is great.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

Overall, the HPU experience is nothing less than “extraordinary." Most students are happy to be attending such a fantastic school and are actually sad to be going home at breaks. The campus has such a welcoming atmosphere that students feel that they are at home no matter how far they have to travel to get there. Students become so involved with friends, clubs, sports, and organizations on campus that leaving all of that to go home is sad for a lot of students. When it comes to preparing students for the future, High Point gives them every opportunity, and all they have to do is take it. High Point produces well-rounded students who are prepared to enter graduate school or the job market as soon as they graduate. With a focus on a real world experience in the University's education, students leave HPU with the competence to jump into the workforce. Through internships and hands-on classroom work, students can feel confident they have the skills to succeed.

High Point is different from so many other schools because it is a small school with large-school facilities. The University has the resources of big schools, but the friendly and caring atmosphere and personal attention of a smaller institution. Professors know students by name and take an interest with what they are doing in and out of the classroom. High Point values a student's whole education, not what is just limited to the classroom. The professors and administration work on molding students not just academically, but also instilling in them a sense of generosity, self-awareness, and kindness toward their environment and fellow man.
