College Junior

Academic Flexibility: I do not have experience with transferring credits. The classes come in all different days and times.

Overall Experience: Overall I am so happy I choose Hawkeye. I knew when I went on my first visit that this would be a great fit! It is also great they have housing right across the street, although not associated with the school, they do provide cheep small apartments for students and have apartments where you get assigned roommates like a dorm. You also have the option to room at UNI in their dorms and can participate in their school activities.

Overall Experience: I really do love my school!

Overall Experience: You attend a M.O.R.E. section which you meet with an advisor that helps you register for classes and they talk about things on campus and financial aid and everything else you would need to know.

Student Body: I am not a very social butterfly as much as I wish I was. People are very nice though and once you get into your program you definitely build friendships!

Tuition & Financial Aid: My first semester costed me less then $2,000 with books! I didn't have to pay a dime and got a reimbursement . They have a great rental program for books and you just return them and some books cost as little as $60.00! It is a great way to save!

Career Services: I do not personally know but I hear they have great job placements and your professor will help you get in with the right people so you can work where you want. They hold job fairs every month and will help place you in a job while going to school either on campus or off.

Academic Experience: I love my teachers, they will do anything to help me if I ask them for it. I am majoring in nursing and have fantastic teachers! I can not wait to get into the simulation lab! I picked hawkeye for their simulation lab.

Academic Experience: Class registration is confusing, you don't know what you need exactly and it can be hard to get in the right times.

Campus Resources: Hawkeye has a small campus but it has everything! The gym is nice, I love to study in the student center and the library is a friendly place filled with nice people! For a community college they have lots of activities and things to participate in. They have events in almost all the buildings but mainly in the brock. I don't think the food is that bad, it is a little more expensive then they made it out to be though!

Tuition & Financial Aid: The tuition here at Hawkeye Community College is the best. Because it is a community college it is not as expensive as a university but for a full-time student with a minimum wage paying job, and no outside help from parents or any other grants such as Fafsa and other scholarships, this scholarship is really needed. For the price of tuition here, I couldn't be happier with the level of education I'm getting here, and with filling out scholarships and trying to get help, the financial aid office and the staff have been great in helping.

Career Services: Almost everyone in my program has gotten their dream job right after college graduation. My professors also help me out by connecting me with people they know working in jobs I am interested and they give me any sort of help I need, helping me fill out internship papers and just researching for future job opportunities.

Campus Resources: Since it is a community college the professors here, along with all the staff make it their number one priority to help each and every student however they can and help me to prepare transferring to a 4-year university. All the centers and libraries really help me get the best education and with smaller class sizes professors are there for you almost whenever you need them!

Online Courses: I am taking one online course this semester and it is easy to fit in with the rest of my classes. The workload isn't overbearing that we don't have time to do it, but we still have to take the time to do it.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Hawkeye offers many work study options while you are in school and many people that graduate from there find jobs that they majored in.

College Junior

Online Courses: I have never taken a full online class at this school.

4 College Junior

Student Body: There are a lot of diffirent people who study here and most people seem accepting of it.

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: We have a new student center with many places to eat, sit, and do other activities. There is also a new gym that students can use and take classes for free. There is always activities happening on campus also. All of these places are good places to study and there is always room.

5 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: My school experience so far has been very good. There are many classes to choose from and if you register early you can get into the class and the time that you want. I plan on transferring so when I register for classes my professor was able to sign me up for classes that were transferable.

4 College Junior

Career Services: There are many connections in the agriculture department with jobs once you are done with school. One part of the program that is very useful is that the last semester of our studies a lot of it is getting an internship at a company that the school helps set up. Many of the internships will then turn into long term jobs to have.

5 College Junior

Academic Experience: Class registering is very easy, you have an advisor helping you throughout it. If you did not want the help then they will write down all of the classes you can choose from and what classes are suggested for you.

5 College Junior

Academic Experience: The agriculture department at my school is very helpful in finding classes. We also have a farm where we raise many animals and students take care of them on a daily basis so it offers many hands-on experience to help understand the actual processes and things we talk about in class.

5 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: Very easy to apply for financial aid and get help when you need it. There is also many opportunities to get scholarships and help with paying for school available to everyone.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: The professors have always been very helpful and the courses explain everything that they say you will learn and more.

College Sophomore

Career Services: I have no experience with this so far. I am sure I will come across this topic eventually.
