3 College Freshman

Academic Experience: Its great, the facility is always helpful and encouraging. They encourage us to ask questions and ask for help if needed. For example, the tutoring center is some all professors want us to try out, in order to achieve our goals in class.

4 College Freshman

Academic Experience: The class registration process is so easy and stress free, not just that but the staff is always helping to get the right classes that work for the students.

3 College Freshman

Academic Experience: Since I'm only taking some general education course to transfer to another university I don't have a specific major. But the classes I needed were available at the times of the day/week that worked for me. The classes easily transferred to my next university.

4 College Freshman

Academic Experience: I'll be transferring and needed some last minute Gen. Ed. classes, which HACC had and they worked easily with me to get what I needed.

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: There are some very good professors, who teach psychology and human services courses at HACC. The teachers that I have had have practical experience with the subjects they teach. It is a much more enriching and enjoyable experience to take abnormal psychology with someone who worked in a state hospital as opposed to someone who just studied it.

Testing & Grading Procedures
At HACC Lancaster, all professors give out a class syllabus. You can also find grading scales and your final grades for classes online.
Typical Lecture - Single Day
A typical lecture at HACC starts out with the professor taking roll. Then they go over the previous topic as a review. Then they go into the lecture on the topic that is being presented. Discussions and questions as well as note taking go on at this time. Some professors offer time after class to go over questions the students have to better clarify information.
Typical Course - Start to Finish
Usually the first week is the same from class to class. The professor will do a brief introduction of themselves and the course itself. They go over the syllabus in detail and answer questions. You then move into the course material. Notes from lectures are not mandatory, but they are a huge help when reviewing for tests. Most professors outline or inform the student about the material on the final exam. If you are struggling with a course, tutors are available. Breaks around mid term are helpful as well.
