Campus Resources: The library is great. The administration and help with financial aid is also pretty good. The campus activities lack and arent very exciting.

Student Body: It's kind of quiet walking around campus but once you get in the classes, there's a little more talk.

Academic Experience: Classes are challenging yet fair. The coursework is moderate and as long as you do your work, you will make the grade.

Campus Resources: The facilities around Gulf Coast are kept clean and tidy. This school is modern and really cares about the student's well being. Any time I have gone to the library or the student help center, I have been helped promptly, and professionally. A+

Overall Experience: I would absolutely choose to go here again. I'm literally getting paid hundreds of dollars to go here because it is so cheap that my scholarships pay me the extra directly. The professors are excellent if you make sure to register for classes early(there of course are some less preferred professors but that only if you wait til last minute to sign up so don't do that). The student life isn't anything to compare to a 4 year university but it isn't anything to mock either. If you wanna be engaged its not terribly hard to do.

Academic Experience: For someone looking to earn their AA or AS degree you will find just about anything you could imagine and plenty of options to fill your credits. If you are looking into a nursing or IT field then Gulf Coast also offers a healthy variety of options for you. If you are searching for a 4 year degree or classes that pertain more specifically to a degree outside the two fields I listed then your choices become much more limited.

Overall Experience: So far I have thoroughly enjoyed all my courses and I've learned a lot in all the areas of study I have ventured into. My professors have all seem very intelligent in their field and passionate about teaching. I felt very well prepared for tests and I even learned quite a bit that I didn't necessarily expect.

Overall Experience: Gulf Coast does a pretty good job of preparing you to transfer from my experience. I can't speak for the 4 year degree students such as in the nursing field but considering Gulf Coast does have it's own hospital sect I would assume students can transfer there with relative ease.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I haven't had any financial aid problems that stemmed from the college or held them accountable. I use to dread the idea of going to a small time state college but after spending two semesters here so far I am pleasantly surprised at the quality of education I am receiving so far. It is excellent and well worth the money. I only wish that more course were offered consistently. There have been a couple instances I ran into in which a class I wanted or needed was not available as they only offered it every two years. While most students getting a two year degree here that would be fine, for me, it was not. I was able to complete my two year degree while only attending Gulf Coast for 2 semesters, therefore making some classes unattainable to me.

Student Body: Gulf Coast seems to display a relatively diverse student body in regards mostly to age and secondly in ethnicity. The Average age last year at Gulf Coast was 26 and this shows just how diverse we because I would say the "mode" (mathematically speaking) this age is not actually very common. Most students here are likely to be older or younger than this age. Ethnically, we are relatively diverse with many students from black, white, and Asian ethnicity. I have had several classes with students that were attending here from other countries such as South Korea. This fact seems to have students unaffected, whether they are of the minority or majority side.

Academic Flexibility: The only problem I had was with one 3 credit hour class that did not get recorded initially. All I had to do was bring my official test scores to the appropriate college secretary and it was all worked out very quickly and my credits were honored. Apparently the college had been in between employees for this position and some things must have gotten lost or overlooked in the transition.

Campus Resources: The general guidance counselors are made up of professors who have other obligations and are only advising on the side so they receive little or no training. They can be very useful in navigating the lighthouse and Angel websites but if you have questions stretching beyond that, they don't usually know the answers to them.

The help desk is run by students and they receive little to no training as well. Essentially, if you sorta know a little about where things are on campus then you can get a job working the help desk but again if you have questions regarding anything other than "where is my next class" they may not really know the answers. However, both the advisers and help desk workers do seem to typically know who to refer you to for any of your unanswered questions which at least there's that but it's still frustrating to have to run all over campus to different offices trying to find the right people.
