5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Grove City College provides a solid community of believers that are passionate about both their majors and their faith. I feel at home there and would totally choose the school again if I could do it all over. We have our own traditions and quirks, but I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. I know God has great things planned for me there and afterward.

Overall Experience: The course schedule for each major is excellent. They choose all of the courses you would need for any graduate school or job, and they give enough electives for any additional classes you may need. The professors are professionals in their fields, so they are extremely educated and are always willing to do whatever it takes to help you succeed.

Overall Experience: Over 95% of graduated are in a job or graduate program of their choice six months out of Grove City, which is really good. The career services office helps the students starting the first week of their freshman year up until graduation to help the students figure out their calling in life.

Health & Safety: On campus you never hear of people being assaulted or getting hurt. It is such a friendly environment, so it is a very safe campus.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: Most of the dorms are outdated and old, so the furniture is not updated. Some of the rooms limit the ability to rearrange the furniture.

Greek Life: I am in a Greek group on campus. There are definitely stereotypes associated with each group, but it is a big community. If you aren't Greek, it isn't a big deal. I am still friends with plenty of people who are independent.

3 College Junior

Athletics: This school focuses mostly on academics, but the sports teams are still a part of campus life. As a student-athlete myself, I have found that I have time for both school and sports. Also, the facilities get the job done, but are not fantastic.

Overall Experience: Grove City College has exceeded all of my expectations. The academics are rigorous, but I have learned so much and I feel very confident going into graduate school. All of my professors are experts in their field, but are all willing to go out of their way to see you succeed.

Party Scene: There is little to no night life because most students are studying and trying to pass classes.

1 College Sophomore

Party Scene: There are little to no good parties, there are dances but they aren't that good usually.

1 College Sophomore

Diversity: There is little to no diversity on this campus, while there are some minority students it is predominantly white conservative christains.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I have heard good things and bad things. For example, I have heard that the number of campus rapes is a little high, but bikes and phones can be left out and not stolen.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I'm looking forward to my acceptance letter and getting to know the community better.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Everyone is hooked up with a career or grad school before they graduate.

4 College Sophomore

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

Freshmen might be a little skeptical about the "Grove City family" lingo that they hear during orientation and opening convocation. However, by graduation, many undergrads admit that Grove City College is a second family. Like almost any real family, Grove City College has its unpopular rules, its rebels, its squabbles, and its quirks. But also like a real family, there's a bond-despite the blemishes. Not everyone is in love with their college family, but Grovers have no excuse to feel like just one of the crowd.

Some students complain their way through four years of killer academics, narrow-mindedness, and local boredom, but by the time most of them actually finish, they have enjoyed Grove City College, despite their gripes. In contrast, many students rave about the school right from the start. They thrive on the academic challenges, accept Christian values, and change the local atmosphere with their passionate desire to serve God and others. The popularity of activities like Orientation Board, Homecoming Committee, and tour guiding are sure signs that students love their school. Grovers, the mainstream and rebel alike, make life-changing connections here.
They become the happily-married, successful alumni who bring their kids to Homecoming for an extended family vacation or reunion.
