Party Scene

{{ error }}
4 College Sophomore

Party Scene: Repetitive at times and with limited options. Other than that, people know how to have a good time and after busting their tails at homework all week, almost everyone seems to want to let loose.Most weekends have something going on. Concerts are the best part of Grinnell's nightlife, especially when high street throws a banger afterwards

4 College Freshman

Party Scene: Parties occur every weekend. The whole campus is invited too, which is nice and inclusive. It's a nice way to meet new people.

4 College Freshman

Party Scene: For a small school in the middle of Iowa, the parties are pretty frequent and good. Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday are when there are the most parties, but you can do stuff any time. There's definitely a culture of drinking and of hooking up, but that's common at most schools.

4 College Freshman

Party Scene: Grinnell really only turns up widespread drinking wise on wednesday, friday and saturday but you can always find someone to smoke or drink with whenever.

Party Scene: Depends on the type of person you are, there are crazy parties and okay parties and sub free parties. You have options

Grinnell students study hard and party hard. Every weekend there’s at least one party going on, so drunken debauchery is never lacking. The most well-known parties are the Harris parties. School-based groups fund them, and students frequently find people at their doors collecting for beer money. Most theme parties vary from creative to mundane. These include the Underwear Ball, Halloween Masquerade Party, Fetish Party, and a cross-dressing party named after the Mary B. James dorms. They include loud music, lots of dancing, cool light effects, and copious amounts of free beer. Someone throws a Harris party almost every weekend, and the administration has no problem.

Dorm parties, while less popular, also occur frequently. They take place in some random residence hall and may or may not include loud music and lights. They almost always include alcohol, and many cup-wielding organizers will show up to beg for donations for these events. There is also a bar that tends to be open at all hours called Rabbit's Tavern, but it caters mainly toward town residents who work night jobs.
