Great Bay Community College has recently moved from Stratham to Portsmouth on the Pease Airforce Base. This move is there saving grace. THe last school reminded me of a nursing home. Every water fountain was broken and the classrooms were small with too many students per class. The new school has a great cafe called the green bean that has good food and relaxing music. The student life room features xbox, wii, playstation, and an air hockey unit. The library is twice the size of the last one. The only downfall of the library is the limited resources. Also CAPS is a great place to go for help with homework and also has a computer lab and quiet study rooms. Overall I give the newly renovated Great Bay a B+!

You think- "oh community college, it is going to be a breeze." Great Bay has some challenging courses! You will leave a course feeling like you learned something, not just "slid by". Even the courses that are on the easy side have given me much to think about. Great Bay hires professors that have taught at our state university, and ones that have taught elsewhere. I am happily surprised at the level of competence and educational support that I have found at Great Bay.

I've had an excellent experience at Great Bay. It's cheap and there are plenty of night classes to work around individual schedules. As a liberal arts major, it's been a little confusing figuring out what I need to have done, and I may have to go back for a fifth semester. I don't really mind, as finishing up my general requirements at GBCC is going to give me a transfer scholarship afterwards as well. Great resources and the staff, from what I've experienced, are more than happy to help with any questions. The teachers I've had have been very knowledgeable, although some have been a bit dry as far as their teaching-style goes. I haven't had a bad experience with other students; everyone seems to be incredibly friendly! Good school to go to if you're not sure what you want to major in and you want to save some money! As far as campus life goes, there are a few clubs and sports, but I haven't joined any.
