3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Hard to get to without a car (unless you take the shuttle to a nearby mall), but there are lots of cute chains and family owned type places to sit and have a nice meal or sit and sip coffee while studying. Gloucester and Rockport are about 20 minutes away and both have some really nice options.

Administration: READ THE LIFE AND CONDUCT STATEMENT BEFORE YOU APPLY. Yes, there are rules. Yes, it can be strict. But it makes for a very peaceful campus and good order. I wouldn't change much honestly.

Scholarships: If you are a good student coming in (high HS GPA) or black, you'll be taken care of. If not... good luck.

Party Scene: It doesn't exist. If you want to party, don't come to Gordon. Like just don't. No, you won't be able to "find them if you know the right people." There are no parties. Some off campus. You have to be way too sneaky and get fined a ton if you get caught. It isn't worth it, just go somewhere else.

Campus Food: Super expensive and not very good. Limited options. Stir fry day is nice but lines are always ridiculous.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Expensive, especially the nicer dorms. Chase is beautiful (for a dorm) but the price is ridiculous. If you're a freshman that wants a suite style expect to be in a forced triple. RAs are chosen with care and usually do a great job.

Majors: The material covered in each program (except Christian Ministries which is actually a joke major) is pretty decent. Few majors have mandatory internship programs, so you will have to seek out internship opportunities on your own (by talking with professors and career services). These supports are good, but you will really have to be proactive about it.

Scholarships: Most students receive some type of scholarship. This school is outrageously over-priced for the quality of education, but at the very least the financial officers are incredibly helpful.

Health & Safety: Our school has the lowest reported crime rate in the country. You can leave your laptop in the dining hall and students you don't know will track you down to give it back (that was actually a true story).

However, the school does not address any of the sexual needs of students (i.e. providing condoms or safe sex education, and there is no public conversation on sexual assault- administration would rather deal with 'those issues on a more personal level').

Campus Housing: Housing is separated by gender and the last I checked this is 2015. You will not be allowed to visit your friends room during certain hours because you have different gender identities. This rule is strictly enforced.

There are also only 4 nice dorms that are notably more expensive, and the rest they will not show you on tours.

Off-Campus Dining: Nothing very extraordinary here. Local towns have some good locations, and there are a number of local seafood/lobster shacks. There is no off-campus meal plan.

Guys & Girls: The students are all exceedingly polite, and it is generally a safe environment for the hegemon. However, students of color and other minorities face a lot of hostility from peers.

Off-Campus Housing: There is no formal off-campus housing option selection through the school. Local areas offer a decent number of low-cost apartments.

Recent Alumnus

Greek Life: There is no Greek life at Gordon College. Fraternities and Sororities are not permitted by administration.

Overall Experience: Being a sophomore, I have not used these resources extensively.

Off-Campus Housing: I live on campus so I don't know very much about it.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: I love my classes and professors.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: I wish there was more school spirit.

Health & Safety: I appreciate everything this school does to protect its students.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: If you are an athlete, you have incredible access to gym equipment, personal training, and medical care. It is much harder to access these things as freely if you are just a regular student.

Health & Safety: Our campus is easily ranked as one of the safest campuses in the nation. Generally good people mixed with great security means a very safe environment.
