Academic Experience

5 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: As an English Literature major, the English courses at Golden West are extremely enjoyable, mostly because of the enthusiasm and encouragement from the professors. Everyone is extremely passionate about the subject matter and are extremely open-minded to encourage participating in class and voicing thoughts about certain pieces of literature. The workload is manageable, but also challenging, as the professors choose pieces that provoke thought and analysis.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: The professors are great, especially once you get past the general education classes and take the more challenging courses. The professors are extremely helpful and personable. They are passionate about their subject material and make classes enjoyable. They will do all they can to help you succeed, to extending study hours or staying behind after class to explain material or just to chat. The curriculum is challenging and beneficial. Tutoring options are wonderful as the tutors are always well-prepared to lecture or work one-on-one. Class registration is painless, quick, and easy; even the waitlist option isn't too terrible to sit through. You almost always get all of your classes.

3 College Student

Academic Experience: Programming classes aren't the easiest thing to take, but it doesn't help that all these classes are at night. They have okay teachers as long as you interact with them and take time out of your schedule to ask for help.

3 College Student

Academic Experience: There are some really great professors at Golden West College, however, it may be hard to find the best professor for you, because there are some not-so-great professors as well. Class registration is pretty easy, because it is online. The courses offered at Golden West is like at any college. Particularly, Golden West has a pretty great choir/music program that people might be interested in.

4 College Freshman

Academic Experience: I'm double majoring in Communication Studies and Philosophy and I think that both disciplines have exceptionally good professors. Communication professors are especially understanding, attentive, clear and willing to help you.
