Georgia State University Reviews
Rating 3.72 out of 5 6,173 reviews
My Georgia State University experience was amazing because of all the great people and professors I could meet. Plus, since Georgia State is in the heart of Atlanta, there's never a day when an event or activity is not taking place. Navigating the bustling streets of downtown Atlanta, GSU's urban campus felt like a vibrant hub of activity. The cityscape provided a dynamic backdrop to my college experience, with skyscrapers towering above and cultural landmarks scattered throughout the area. Academically, GSU offered a wide range of courses and programs that catered to my interests and aspirations. Whether I was delving into the world of political science, exploring the depths of literature, or immersing myself in the world of computer science, there was always something new and exciting to learn. Overall, my freshman year at Georgia State University was an unforgettable journey filled with learning, exploration, and transformation.
Georgia State is an overall great school. The student body is the most ethnically diverse I've ever been a part of and that goes for the staff and faculty as well. There is always so much to do on campus. From group study workshops to informational sessions concerning certain career paths, and fun events like pillow decorating or making friendship bracelets. The athletic facilities are absolutely amazing, and the variety of sports they have to offer is the best any student could ask for. The dining halls offer a plethora of dishes from several places around the world, allowing students to curate a well-balanced diet for themselves to stay healthy. The residence halls in my experience have continued to be clean, well-protected from intruders, and accommodating for all its residents. And finally, I am quite satisfied with academics the University has to offer. The classes here make me truly feel like I'm being prepared to pursue my goals as an adult after I graduate.
After spending three years at Georgia State University, the thing that I like the most is diversity. You can meet and make friends with a lot of students and faculty from all around the world. Also, some professors are willing to help you even though they have a fully packed schedule either in academics or daily life. For me, I hope that the Department of Campus Safety should put more control on monitoring those surrounding areas close to the campus to prevent bad incidents that might happen to students in the meantime, especially those who live in housing downtown.
