Drug Safety: The drug scene at Augusta State University is not serious.I do not see anyone using anything serious. Every where I walk, I see most of the students smoking.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: The food is really pallatable. It will not take long to get sick of the food. It is basically fast food you can get at restaurants. But it is good to stop by and grab something quick. I do not think the food is worth putting on your JagCard.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: There are limited choices, but regardless, they seem active and well involved in school functions and the community.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: Big for Such a Small School – Sports are not as big of a deal here as they are for larger schools, but the students are very school spirited. There are several different spirit organizations around the school and many students are involved.

5 College Freshman

Diversity: Very Diverse – When I walk around campus, I see a lot of diverse groups of people. The people are mostly black or white, but there are also a lot of students from different backgrounds. Everyone is generally accepted and they are not judged whenever they share their opinions in class.

Health & Safety: I have never been afraid to walk around my campus by myself. You see the campus police around all the time, but they aren't so present that it becomes overbearing. I do not have to worry about my car or anything because they monitor the parking lots more than anything. If they are overbearing in any sense, it is in the parking lots because you make the slightest mistake and they will ticket you.

Greek Life: Greek Life exists at ASU, however they are predominantly heard of during the first two weeks of the semester to recruit students. Other than that, you won't hear or see much Greek groups.

4 College Junior

Academics: Available Resources – There are many degree programs offered at ASU, and the curriculum is set a very high standard to challenge students for higher academic achievement. The registration process is straight foward and organized, however financial aid can be confusing at the time of registration and causes students' classes to be dropped. The workload is a lot, however this causes students to form study groups and become friends and a set a bar of competition for motivation.

4 College Junior

Campus Quality: Many Resources – The facilites at ASU are educational and entertaining at the same time. There are many tutoring centers as well as game rooms in the student center, and two main cafeterias for food.

3 College Junior

Transportation: Drive Your Own Car – We have a school shuttle that will come to each stop in 15 minute intervals. I have never been on it before since I drive my car everywhere on campus, but I have heard from several students who have used it that the shuttle arrives late, which makes you late for your next destination (ex: class).

3 College Junior

Campus Food: School Food – There are only two main cafeterias at Augusta State University, however the bigger out of the two is located the student center, and has a variety of restaraunts for students to eat from. However, price can be too expensive at times.

Academics: Very Wonderful – Just like any university, Augusta States designs its curriculum to help students succeed in the program they are most interested in. Being a Biology major, the classes are exceptionally challenging however the professors are always willing to assist their students with any help. The workload can vary depending on how much you study for your classes, and the facilities are great resources for students to use and take advantage of such as tutoring centers and computer labs.

Technology: The computers at Augusta State are in really great and new condition. We have a major computer lab in every building along with printing stations, that are Dell CPUs and in our Media Services lab, we have Apple's Mac desktops as well. They are very fast working, so you never have to wait for a computer to load or process anything. They are well protected with McAffee Virus Security Protection, and students have their own personal drive, so they may save documents onto the computer.

3 College Junior

Athletics: Not an Athlete – I am not a sports fan, however I do know our golf team is excellent.

2 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: Not Many Locations That Are Close to the School – You can't walk to any restaurants from campus. The housing facility is closer to restaurants than the school is, but students usually have a car if they go out.

2 College Senior

Health & Safety: Safe on Campus, but I Wouldn't Go Out at Night. Campus security is always patrolling the campus, so you feel very safe while you're at school. The neighborhood surrounding the school has its questionable areas, however. Just be careful if you are out at night, especially if you are a female.

4 College Senior

Majors: English Department Rocks – I was admitted into the English and Foreign Languages Department right away. The faculty is very nice and helpful at this college. I'm not sure about the process for other Majors.

Off-Campus Housing: I Call the ASU Housing Off-Campus Because It Is Far from Campus – The ASU "off-campus" housing is pretty expensive and seems to always be packed. The real off-campus housing in the areas surrounding the college vary in price and type. I live in a 3 bedroom home for $800/month, but I am also married. Apartments here are expensive and not worth it to me because I like space and privacy. The homes are okay, but tend to be older.

4 College Senior

Transportation: Shuttle Is Best If You Life in the Off-Campus Dorms – The ASU shuttle bus runs from the main campus to the off-campus housing and to the off-campus athletic fields/center. If you do not live in the off-campus housing facility (and most students don't), there's really no need to take the shuttle bus unless you want a ride to a college game or something. Either way, the service is free to current college students and that's nice.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Good Professors – The professors are extremely helpful and understanding. My professors are there to help me succeed and work towards my career.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I received a good amount of financial aid but it took a lot of time for my HOPE to finally go through. If only someone could help me when I need to apply or exactly tell me what I need to fill out for my scholarship.

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Most of the girls and guys on campus are very friendly and social. The students that are in my classes are always interactive and outgoing!

1 College Sophomore

Parking: The parking at Augusta State University is absolutely a hassle! Waking up extra early to get a good parking spot is an inconvenience. There are several parking spaces around the campus yet there is not enough.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: Sports Are AWESOME! Our basketball and baseball teams are one of the greatest!

4 College Freshman

Local Area: Great for Friends. Night life could be a bit better, but there are so many parks to go out for a walk or even concerts. The mall isnt too bad and there are many shops close by to the school.
